I was wondering if an owner of a Wilderness Instructor belt could help me out with a couple answers...

Okay...  Here we go...

- After measuring my normal belt as per the instructions on thier web site, I came out at a "trim" 36".  My typical carry is outside the waist band.  Is there enough adjustment in the belt to also allow IWB if necessary?

- I'd like to be able to use this belt for all my carry needs.  Be it with a little .380 Colt or my XD-45.  Would you advise me to get the stiffening stitching?  Does it add extra weight or may the belt uncomfortable?

- Last but not least...  1 1/2" or 1 3/4" width?  Uniform of the day usually means Levi jeans...

Thanks!!

I would add at least an inch probably two inches for IWB. there will be enough adjustment to tighten for a owb or no holster. get the stitching and 1.5" for jeans. not uncomfy at all. I've slept in mine.

I measured for mine with the gun in place since I carry IWB. FWIW, I wear a size 32 jeans and use a 36" Instructor belt.

Get the 1.5" width and 5-stitch model.

ETA: The belt fits just fine without the gun in place as well.

yep. 5 stitch 1 1/2"

I wear size 30 or 31 pants. Got a 35. Works great with a MTAC w/XD subcompact IWB. There is a fair amount of adjustment with the velcro

Another thing to consider, is most holsters are made for 1 1/2" belts. Kydex ones at least.

I love my Wilderness. I went in their shop and they made me a belt in 10 minutes. Good company.

So how stiff is the belt that with the polymer lining, I see that none of you mentioned that model.  Or is the 5 stitch hvy duty enough for IWB carry?

the regular 5 stitch is plenty stron and after talking to wilderness i will order the other in 5 stitch and not with the liner.
