I am going skiing next weekend. I am a very good skier.

Spent several years as a 'ski bum' in Vail.

Just laying the groundwork.

I don't think I would carry my P229, just too big.

Anyone out there packing on the hill?

I live 10 minutes from Eldora ski resort. Crazy stuff happened this winter,

Not that I think I will be involved with some bizarre disgruntled employee, but I carry quite often.

Thoughts?

Why not??

You're not likely to print

I can remember the last time I fell skiing, it was the most painful    prolly 10 years ago.  It was my knee that went, body impact wasn't an issue.

I skied to the ski patrol check-up place (it took a while), the ski-doc was more interested in my CCW than my knee, so I left and hit the lodge bar (bad idea in the grand scheme of things).

Of course he was. I read through the the other thread and think I will be packing. 24/7 right?!

I would carry the Sig. No one will notice, how much more uncomfortable could it get? Your already wearing all those layers...

"Active shooter" at a Colorado ski resort in December.  Just because ski resorts are a serene setting doesn't mean they are immune to violence.

Do a Google search for "ski resort shooting" or "ski resort assault" and you'll find that ski resorts do have their share of shootings, assaults, robberies and sexual assaults.

I carry while skiing. When I went this weekend I guess by shirt rode up and a guy next to me asked me if I was going to ski with my Glock.

I said "Yea, you know, abominable snowmen". My friends think something is wrong with me because I carry everywhere I go!

Just a thought, consider carrying in an inside jacket pocket.  It's not as fast to access, but you are a lot less likely to fall on it if you do take a spill.  It also eliminates any problem with your jacket riding up.  This was my usual snowboarding carry technique when I lived in CO.

Yeah, well just let them ponder how Columbine would have been different if a few teachers were carrying. Or Virginia Tech. On and on.

I say, the more of us that do, the better off everyone is. Even the sheep that complain about it.

I'm on the same page. More power to you bro!

The way Ii ski would be scared to carry. I would fall and break leg then they would shoot me like a horse.
