Ok I have heard loads of talk about Comp-tac holsters and am gonna get one. Ctac Mtac one of the 2. The problem is I have not gotten my new gun yet. Still can't decide between the g27 or g30. Currently I have a g22 so do you think I should stick with the .40 S&W or move up to a big boy size of .45 ACP. I am leaning towards the g27 just because of the ammo I already have. Can someone post some pics of the Mtac with their g27. I am kinda a big boy at 6'1 270lbs. I really want to make sure that this is going to be my best setup.

If I already had and used a G22, then I would stick with the .40. However, I would get the G23 instead of the G27. The G23 is the perfect sized CCW handgun IMO––small enough to easily conceal (especially in a CTAC/MTAC), yet large enough that is shoots as well as a full size handgun. IMO, the G27 isn't much easier to conceal than the G23, but it is much more difficult to shoot well. I don't think that the benefits of the G27's size outweigh the shootability of the G23.

Also, the G30 is closer to the size of the G23 than it is to the G27, so if you can conceal a G30, then you can conceal a G23 (probably easier too).

FWIW, I shoot .45 and carry a G30 in a CTAC.

I'm 6'1" 200lbs, I carry a G21 most of the time and a G30 every once in a while.

Just carry the G22.

Other than that I agree with topgun.

carry the g22 in a mtac.  you will have to forgive me because this is the first time I have ever done this before.  It just seems to me that a full size pistol would be alot harder to conceal.  I know I would shoot better with it that with a g27 or g30 it might just be in my head.  I guess I should get the mtac for the g22 and then buy a replacment if I ever get the g27 or 30.  Is comp-tac the only place you can get these from?

My G30 is about the same size as my G19. Quite a bit larger than a G26/27. I love my G30, it' s a great gun, but my G19 sees the most carry duty.

Oh and MTAC FTW! Have one for all my primary carry guns.

It's a common misconception that the G30 is a sub-compact gun like the G27. It is not a sub-compact; it is about the same size as the G19/G23 which makes it the perfect CCW size––small enough to easily hide, but big enough that you can still shoot it as easily as a full size handgun.

I am not suggesting that you carry your G22––I wouldn't want to carry that under most circumstances either. I am suggesting that if you're willing to carry a gun the size of a G30, then you should look at the G23 instead since it's the same size as the G30. I only suggest the G23 over the G30 because you already have and use a .40, so you can use the same ammo and mags. If you have an itch for a .45, then the G30 is an excellent CCW handgun.

Since I already had a G21, I chose the G30 for CCW so I could share ammo and mags. Here's my G30 in a CTAC:

Ge the Mtac or Ctac slide. You can carry the 22, 23, or 27.

I prefer the MTAC over the CTAC so I'd lean that way if I were you.

Not Glocks, but here ya go.

Pistol choice...I'd recommend the 45.  The increase in recoil impulse will be barely noticeable in the polymer framed pistol.  In fact, i'd go so far as to say the 45 in a Glock is all round preferable to the 40s.  And don't forget the GAP

Holster choice...i still haven't found an IWB I like, so thanks for posting that question.
