I am looking at purchasing a iwb holster and it seems like the comptac mtac is a very popular holster. However, have a quick question about the carry side. Which is the normal carry side for a right hander. And will it work on the left side for a cross draw? Thanks ARnutt |
| I have never found cross draw to be comfortable or quick enough to draw. Strong side is definitely the way to go. I have a shoulder holster that I sometimes wear on long car trips (I go on trips 500-2,000 miles almost 10 times a yeay). I find it much too difficult to draw from my strong side holster while strapped into a car. |
| Well, I guess so far I'm the odd man out. I prefer cross draw. When folks ask why, i have them try this little test. Put your IWB strong side holster on in your normal position. Now draw from it with your off hand. End of test. Over the years, I have continually heard folks say that when drawing from a cross draw, you "must" either sweep yourself or others. If done properly, this isn't so. Once I demonstrate how to do it properly, as opposed to "hollywood style", the truth is evident. As to speed, I'm getting old and a bit slow, but from under a concealment garment, don't bet the farm on the speed of strong side versus cross draw. |
