The "Slide" version allows you to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as Glock 9mm, .40, and .357's). The Slide is typically slightly longer than the shortest gun of the series, and left open so the excess barrel length on longer guns can "slide" through the end of the holster. A "Full-Coverage" version can be ordered by selecting your specific gun model.

Is this a good holster for the G22/G27, or is one better off just buying the proper holster for each gun?

Yes, if you want the same holster for your 22 and your 27, this will work.  keep in mind, that if its IWB, and you do a lot of shooting, and you put your 22 back in your holster, it can be a bit hot... just something to keep in mind.  if you're looking to save some money, this is your holster.

Thet make a 'slide' model specifically for that. I have one but never use it with the longer barrels.

I have a couple of their slide model holsters and they work great.  I highly recommend them.   I will carry my 19, 17, and 27 and they all fit the same holster.  They are also one of the most comfortable IWB holsters that I have found.   Just make sure when you order it you order the SLIDE MODEL HOLSTER.

I have not had any problems with my Comp-Tac slides.

+1. my comp-tac holster will work with both my G19 and my G17.  A 34 would fit in there, too!

you wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the G17 in your CTAC would you? i just ordered one about 2 days ago and am hoping i made the right decision with the slide version... i own a G17, but am hoping to be a proud G19 owner in the near future and wanted to be able to use the same holster for both.

Not handy, but I could try to get one.  Probably wouldn't be til this weekend, though.  Hopefully you will have it by then!

They always say that. I've gotten all of my holsters from them in under a week.

I got my M-Tac and the belt I ordered within a week also.

I got the "slide" option on my holster and love it. Glock 26, 19 and 17 are all good to go with this holster.

Well, with regard to carrying the G17 in the G19 CTAC holster, I was mistaken.  The end of the holster is crimped slightly as you can see here.  (photos taken with my "blue" training gun which is 100% identical to Glock 17.)

Now, Here is what I will probably do:  Take a pot of boiling water and place your G17 in the holster as pictured.  Dip just the end of the CTAC into the water and put pressure on your pistol until it pushes in.

I have modified the C-Clips in a similar fashion in boiling water as you can see here:

Good luck with your CTAC!
