Ok so my MTAC arrived today and i have a few questions. First the details- MTAC slide version right hand with 1.5" clips. Glock 27 and 35 I have a proper gun belt. Galco 1.5" dress belt I am 5' 11" 165# how much bigger to buy pants with the MTAC? i wear a size 33 right now. Where do most position their MTAC? I tried at 3 o'clock but not comfortable on my hip bone. 4-430 felt pretty good What hole on the clips did you adjust to? the clips are not square to the belt and do not want to grip correctly as they are set now. Both are on the middle hole of five. I am use to a FOBUS kydex paddle holster and the way it retains the pistol by snapping around the trigger guard. The MTAC looks like it should do the same thing but does not. More like just a friction fit. Does this sound right? I bought it to wear everyday with my shirt tucked in. How the heck do you put it on and get your shirt tucked in and looking good. I tried tucking everything first and then pulling out just where the MTAC will go and then retucking over it but it was a major pain. I tried all of this with a size 34 that i have but would think a 35 might make everything work easier. I am trying to up the amount of time I CCW to 100%, but living in South MS with temps in the 90's and the same for the humidity all summer wearing a dress shirt makes it hard. Thanks for all the Help! |

I feel most comfortable with +2 in the pant size 4:00 carry is about where I'm at as well What holes you use is entirely up to you. How much cant you want, how deep/shallow you want it to ride, are the main determining factors. My C-TAC has the old clips that only have 3 holes... I have it set for maximum forward cant.... C-TAC retention is through the trigger guard as well... my M-TAC is still in the mail ![]() Try tucking the shirt after positioning your holster. Buttoning up and reaching in your pants through the zipper hole to pull the shirt down some helps

+2" for me as well. I have "CCW jeans" and regular jeans. I wear mine at 3 o'clock as 4-430 didnt work for me as well. I do like the thinner/longer attachments. I dont ever tuck my shirt as I always have a longer outer shirt. the ctac "snapped" into position, but the MTAC does not. . scottMO |
| I wear at the 4 o'clock position also. I think my hip bone will not allow it at 3. Mine also does not "click" in but I think there is enough friction. I don't know about my pant sizes. I think it might be different for jeans and slacks though. Might just need to take the rig to the dressing room. |

+2 on pant size works well I just sorta stuck mine on my hip and figured it out for myself. After awhile it just ended up at 3:00 and I got used to it. It lives there permanently now. Put the holster in your pants and let each clip sit vertically on the belt. The holster will be slightly canted forward. You can play around with the exact position by moving the clips up and down but I left mine on the "factory" positions and it works fine for me. Play with it and see what you prefer. The MTAC will snap in, in a manner of speaking. Adjust the retention screws fairly tight, then put the holster inside your pants and insert your (initially UNLOADED) pistol to check the fit. If it's set up right, the pistol will slide in the holster and click into place, althought the click is really more felt than heard. This brings me to one of my favorite things about the MTAC: IT'S QUIET! I like full kydex but they make a distinctive "snap" sound when presenting/stowing your piece. You really have to be wearing an MTAC for proper retention since the leather side uses your body to hold it against the gun. I don't think you can tighten the retention screws enough to get a real compression fit when the holster isn't on you. Don't worry; I'm pretty sure I could hang upside-down and my pistol would stay right where it's supposed to. Another thing worthy of note is that the leather part of the MTAC will break in over time. They get a lot more comfortable with use. I don't really know about the shirt thing. Sorry, I'm just not a tucked-in kind of guy, even before I started carrying. I tried it a couple of times for shits-n-grins and I did it more or less the way you described. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the replies! I have worn it every day so far and find that pants size is a big key in comfort. Tucking the shirt in is a huge pain to get it to look good but is necessary for the work place. The clips look very visible to me but no one seems to notice. I sat near three state troopers and two local police and they were not eyeballing me so I guess its good to go! |
Glad you are liking the M-tac. Btw the vast majorities of BGs don't buy holsters more expensive than what they find in a bag at their local Sportsmans Warehouse if they use anything at all, so it's not that big of a deal if a cop sees a belt clip poking out. You could use the smaller clips or attach some velcro and use the v-clips. With my dress shirts tucked in you cannot tell there is something there short of putting a hand on my 4 o'clock position with the v-clips. |
Same thing for me. My 38 pants are a little loose and my 36 pants are a little tight. I will buy 38 size pants in the future. |
+1 I had no need to buy new pants |
+1 Use the same pants I wear every day. The MTAC is an awesome fit. |
