I would like to see any mods you have made on your Comp-Tac holsters. Let's see your handy work with the dremel and some duct tape.

Don't be shy.

Note that a new front leather strut was cut and punched to accept two screws through the belt C-clip. This prevents the scabbard from shifting and holds the rake angle absolutely true. Also note the 3M Safety Walk tape. It’s a non-abrasive (no grit) type that keeps the Kydex from sliding around inside the pant waistband. I’m currently experimenting with the effectiveness of different tape placement (extra tape placements in photo). Holster rides at 3:00, thus the tendency to slide fore or aft off the hip point before the mods. It now rides rock solid with no shifting, regardless of how many times I sit and stand, or climb in and out of my vehicle.

One overview and one close up pic.:

He folded the top clip over to wrap around the belt. They come at a 90 degree angle from the factory.

Standard clips are 90 degrees. C-clips are wrap around. He tightened the wrap on C's.

Negative. The top of the clip on a C-clip is 90 degrees out. He wrapped it around to a true 180 degree C-clip.

See the link below for a visual on how they come from the factory.

Also, that mod cinches it tighter to the belt for less play (no movement)

with that mod, can you still take the holster off without taking off your belt??

No, you cannot.  And, it only works with a belt of that exact size and thickness.  But it is VERY solid.

i hate that.... id like to be able to take it off and on without taking off my belt.... im still thinking of a way to mod it so i can still take it off and on but dont fall behind the belt...

If you have a more flexible belt, you can "roll" it into the clips.

I just use a different holster for carry with Non-dress belts.  Modified DeSantis Kydex with J-clips.  The J clips work much better for the easy off-on, however, I have found the rear J clip can "walk" itself out of your belt after daily use.

I added something called a "Mole Skin" to mine today. It makes a already comfortable holster, extremely comfortable.

I picked it up off of CompTac's website for a whopping $8.

It comes in 9X7" sheets and you cut it to fit your holster. It has a very tacky self adhesive on  the one side and took to the leather just fine. With some daily wear it will mate nicely and I don't have any fears of it coming loose and rolling up on the edges.

I had problems with getting a grip on my gun while it was still holstered.  I found myself regriping it once I drew, since my middle finger couldnt find its way far enough up the grip.  So, I cut out a bit of the kydex that was meant to block the trigger guard, but was extended way too far to do its job.

Before/ during since I started cutting before I decided to take pics

Done, I may cut it a bit further, but it seems this is good enough.

Those standard clips look skinnier and different, did comp-tac upgrade/change the clips??

mcnielsen- i dont think any gun belt is flexable enough to "roll" it into the clips.... i wear the wilderness 5-stich instructors belt since im a college student and never wear formal clothes.

Weak, I know.  But it clears the Big Ass Mag Release.

The best holster ever.

All I did to mine was dip the end in hot water an straightewn out the muzzle end of the holster so my Comp-Tac for my G33 now acts as a slide for my 32,17,34.

ZW17 how has the mole skin held up?
I'm courious to see how well it stays stuck.
I purchsed the spartan and did the same thing (added mole skin) but Ive only had the holster for about a week.

Still 100% stuck on.

I don't see it ever coming off. It was some pretty tacky stuff that with heat and pressure will become one with the leather.

Here's my old C-TAC. I just dipped the end in hot water an staightened out the end so it would accept any length GLOCK. If you try this take the leather off first.

With the G33 that it was ordered for:

With a G17:

And lastly, a G34:

If you need bigger pics let me know.

I'm cheap. I already had the G33 holster and needed one for the 32.
