Anyone have any recommendations on a mag carrier? Putting 2 13rd 45ACP mags in my front pockt is kind of a drag. It's heavy and you can tell I have something in my pocket.

I need something IWB which I can tuck my shirt over.

IWB isn't necessary for mags, really it isn't.  Any untucked shirt will cover any spare mag.  I use Wilderness pouches for my Para mags, but any good mag pouch will do.  I only carry one, though.  I know I miss a lot, but 27-29 rounds should still be enough.

I'll have to take a pic, I have a "tuckable" mag carrier to go with my "tuckable kydex holster".... I carried IWB at my brother's wedding with shirt tucked in and no one knew.... except my sister cause I told her. Holster on strong side, mag on weak side.

one other option I was told of but have never actually seen, is to modify an ankle holster kind of rig to hold mags.  If you have a tuckable holster for your carry gun, it's an alternative. Assuming you are wearing a tucked in shirt you are also wearing long pants and not shorts.

Aha.  If you must wear your shirt tucked in, then make yourself a pocket holster for your spare magazine, to keep it from printing inside your pocket, and to keep it in position.

Look online for some pics of other people's pocket holsters, and then make your own using a mousepad for material.  (Five or six dollars at OfficeMax or Staples, or free from some advertiser.)  Trace your pocket for a pattern, make two halves, put the mag in, and then glue the two halves of the sandwich together, leaving the magazine pocket unglued, of course.

Depends on your style of dress.

If you wear T shirts all the time or occasionally a suit jacket, then you can consider a OWB mag holder for optimal comfort.

If you ever tuck then you might want to consider a IWB.

I would NOT screw with the pocket. You've already tried and don't like it. Morever, the reach is quicker from a holder, and the mag doesn't get lint & crap in it when properly held in a carrier

I use a Galco Ultra Deep cover IWB mag holder for my 1911, whether I tuck or not. I would tell you to just go with a IWB and you have everything covered, but you might find the staggered mags uncomfortable when seated, etc.

Go to a large store that carries these products and try sitting down with them. if you can't then try jamming the mags in your waistband and cinch thebelt tightly. then sit swivel and walk around. If no bother, then order IWBs. if a PITA then go with OWBs.

I am running a dual mag carrier for my USP 45 mags.  Its a Gcode and has OWB paddle, which I don't care for.  My holster has the IWB mount and I love it.

Plus its summer and I'd rather wear a t'shit and untucked/button shirt than two T's.  Yea the mags to print that bad on big ole double stack 45 mags.

If I'm wearing cargo pants/shorts I put a mag horizontally in each pocket.  Looks fine, but they do move around alot for anything more than walking.

Been looking at the "tactical" clothing out there 5.11 and clones for pants/shorts with dedicated mag pouches sewen in.  I dislike the normal 5/11 pants because it only has one spare mag pocket - I always carry two.  I do like the looks of the TDU pants with internal pockets for mags inside the cargo pocket.

Been thinking with the right cut of pants (baggy) a "pocket holster" would work.

The only reason mags print in baggy pockets is because the slide to the bottom and pull.  A good pocket holster would ride them up a big....

But yea, same delema as you.

You may have to shop for a pair of pants that will better allow you to conceal a .45 mag in your pocket.  I like the "sewn pocket mag pouch" idea.
