Have one but no gun to fit in it yet.....until tommarow....but no CPL till Oct.

I've wore it around the house with my cuz airsoft "Glock" (1:1 size and weight) to see how it will feel and it feels pretty good

I used to carry a beretta 92 in a Galco "Miami Classic" shoulder rig.

The rig itself was very comfortable, the only downside was always having to wear a jacket.  My rig had the offside double magazine carrier.  I don't think I've even had it out of it's box in over 5 years, it's just so much easier to wear a shirt untucked over my waist gun than it is to be able to wear a jacket all the time.

I have owned several, still own one (Hidden Thunder horizontal carry for any 1911 frame, long or short), but they all end up sitting around unused.  Too much trouble, no commensurate benefit.  Belt holsters and pocket holsters are just more convenient and comfortable.

I suppose if I had to do a lot of driving, like if I were a taxi driver or something, I might try a shoulder rig, just because it is easier to draw from while seated and belted in.

Only for hunting myself, then I carry a .44 mag in one.
For CCW however I would only wear one for my backup piece as my main weapon would be strong side either OWB or IWB.

I gave one for my Glock 17.  Its about the only way I can carry a full size double stack with 2 mags.  Not a big deal, but there are other reasons I use it.  Driving is one, but the best is riding.  When I'm on my motorcycle theres no other way to carry.  Working outside is another time the belt holster sucks.  I use a shoulder rig quite a bit and its a bit more of a pain in the ass (needing a coat of heavy shirt), but it works great for concealment when a belt rig can't cut it.

Just 2 different tools for the job.

I've got a nylon Uncle Mike's I use to carry my hunting revolver- keeps it out of the elements/brush, etc.  I've also got a Galco Miami Classic that I've used in the winter (no real complaints about it other than it flops around a bit) and a lightweight Galco rig (looks like their Executive but made with suede) that came with my PPK/S when I bought it (used gun).

I think they are fine for carry as long as you accept that they aren't the fastest holsters and you have to wear something over them to conceal them.  They do distribute the weight better if you have a bad back- a friend of mine has rods in his lower back and wearing a belt bothers him so he wears suspenders and a shoulder holster with a Bersa in it.

If I'm wearing something without a belt it makes sence to use a shoulder holster. A sweat suit, track suit, or other lightweight clothing makes carrying on the belt difficult.

I have two for my G21, a horizontal and vertical style. The horizontal one prints excessively, and offers the butt of my weapon to any adversary. It's easier for them to draw it than it is for me.

The vertical one pretty much requires two hands to draw, offside to release the strap, and strong side to grip the butt. My strong hand cannot reach the strap release.

I use the horizontal shoulder holster in combat configuration, wearing BDUs and web gear, not for carrying concealed. Depending on what's slung over my shoulder, I sometimes use a tactical thigh holster for the G21.

For concealed carry, I use an inside the pants holster, on my right rear hip. I can protect the weapon in a normal fighting stance, and keep at least my offside hand free for hand to hand.

I've got an older DeSantis that I sometimes carry my 1911 in.   Want to know what wearing a bra (holding a pair of double DD's) feels like?  Carry a steel framed Govt. .45  in a shoulder holster for a few days with a pair of spair mags in a weak-side pouch!
However......if you're going to carry while seated in a car (or pretty much anywhere else), it's pretty much the only way of carry that will allow you to draw your piece.
And I don't always wear a jacket.   A t shirt worn under an un buttoned, un tucked collared shirt works equally well.

I've worn a Bianchi X-15 and a Miami Classic at various times over the years.  Like so much else, there are advantages and disadvantages.  I never found them to be particulary uncomfortable, as do many folks, but it does take a while to get used to them.

yup, most the winter I carry a HK P7M8 in a Alessi Bodyguard, also carry a 340 PD in pocket holster(always have the 340PD with me). My body type just wont work with a IWB holster. Connie also carries a S7W 442 in a Bodygaurd, these are very nice and comfortable rigs.

I used to carry a 1911 in one sometimes.  I had major surgery on my left (gun side) shoulder.  The weight gets to me after a while now.  I may get another Miami Classic for my Glock 19 though.  It is a lot lighter than my TRP, so I don't think the weight will bother my shoulder.

I tried one and didn't like it. It wasn't very comfortable and the weather here never gets cold enough to allow a cover garmet that would actually conceal it.

I have four shoulder rigs; 1 uncle mikes which I don't use, 1 GALCO for my 1911 which I have tried but without heavy clothing, I can't seem to conceal it well enough for me, and two from Ken Null - one for my Glock 30 and one for my S&W .38.

I really like the S&W set up.  It's comfortable, secure, and conceals extremely well for me.
