I was wondering what you guys think is the best sd ammo in

9mm
40sw
45acp

I am not trying to start a caliber war, I just wanna know what is considered best in each.

Do your research on bullets and bullet construction.

Gold Dots (a bonded bullet) seem to be leading the way.

Remember - in .45 ACP only - ball ammo is a perfectly good SD ammo.

Read THIS from the guru of ammo: Dr. Gary Roberts. Dr. Roberts only recommends ammunition that passed very rigoous testing.

ETA: There really is no BEST caliber or best ammo. With good JHPs, all calibers you recommend perform about the same in ballistic gel and human tissue.

The best one is the one that functions reliably in your gun, is accurate in your gun, and that you can accurately and efficiently make good hits with.

Any modern hollow-point from a major manufacture will get the job done. Some here will say brand A is better and others will say brand B or brand C, but at that point people are really splitting hairs. The most important thing is that it will funtion 100% in your gun.
