I am in the market for a light weight, IWB holster.  I have checked out a few, and I'm 95% sold on Blade-tech.  One of my closest friends swears by all three of his Blade-tech IWB's, and his only complaint is that the "J hooks" he uses tend to break?

For that reason I am looking at the Blade-tech UCH (but he hasn't tried this one).  I know it is basically made for a shirt tucking holster, but it seems that the thick "S hook" would be less breakable.  My concern is that since the hook attaches to the muzzle end of the holster, does the holst stay put, or does it shift a lot?  (ie. during normal daily routines, and during drawing/reholstering?)  I do know the importance of a good belt, and I have that covered already.

Any personal experience with this holster would be greatly appreciated.  (For what it's worth I have a Springfield XD sub-compact)

Thanks,
Kory.

I have a Bladetech Kydex IWB holster for a 1911 that used to have J hooks.  I replaced it with the loop type because my holster move around with the J hooks.  Also with the J hooks my pants carry my pistol's weight instead of my belt.  My .02

I have that exact holster for my Glock 23.  It does tend to shift around somewhat, usually only after you've been sitting.

That's really my only complaint about it, and that's minor.  It has been very durable and I don't have any problem concealing it.

I've never carried it with a shirt tucked over it, but that shouldn't be a problem either.

I have the blade tech UCH for my p345.

I don't have a CHL yet, I'm waiting on the state to finish the processing of my application.

I got the holster one afternoon before my wife had made it home. As a test, I decided to wear my pistol and see if she noticed. Throughout the afternoon I did all the normal household activities such as playing with my 7 mo old son, grilling on the back patio, moving sprinklers around the yard, etc...

she never noticed.

Finally before bed, I asked her. "Honey, have you noticed anything unusual about me today?"

She looked perplexed, then I could see the lightbulb illuminate...

she said, "you don't have any underwear on, do you?!"

Since then, I have worn the pistol at night doing normal stuff just to see how it will feel in daily carry. I even did yard work with it. GP is right, the only problem I have had is after I get up from sitting down, that's the only time I have to 'readjust'. Truthfully, this will probably be fixed with a high quality belt...so don't let this cricism turn you off from blade-tech.

word of warning...apparantly they're running 4-6 weeks behind. I ordered just before they started this, and they had my holster to me in 3 weeks just like they promised.

Good point.  I use a normal, crappy belt.  A better one would definitely help.
