| I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra $20 for the horsehide belt or stick with the bullhide belt? Looking at 1.5 in wide. Also, any suggestions on which looks the best between brown, cordovan, or if I go horsehide, saddle tan? Thanks. |

Quoted: I've worn a brown bullhide daily for probably 7-8 years. Don't know what the horsehide provides over the bull, but, either way, you can't go wrong by choosing a BeltMan belt. This ^^^ exactly, except I have a black one and a brown one and change as needed to match. Years of wear on both, not that you could tell it. |

I've, also, been wearing a BeltMan bullhide belt for the past 6 or 7 years. In fact I'm going to wear it again today; and, other than a few scuffs from holster metal, it's still as good as new. One thing that makes this belt so superior to other gunbelts is the addition of the BeltMan's (optional) polymer liner. If you add the polymer liner to your order I suspect you'll be wearing your new Beltman belt for, at least, the next decade (or until you finally outgrow it).
My BeltMan is a very strong gunbelt with absolutely no sag. I'd suggest getting a seven, rather than a five, hole tongue; and, for ITB/IWB use, be sure to add two or three inches in length to your normal belt size. In my experience light-colored gunbelts, and gun oil don't get along well together. |

This...My Beltman is way above any thing you will buy in a dept store and most farm and fleet stores. Im going to order another very soon. |

I recommend the tan over the brown it seems to match more IMO. The brown is a very deep chocolate almost black |

I have a Beltman horse belt and although I can't speak from personal experience I've been told that the horse is stiffer than the bull hide and does not need a stiffener. Mine is wonderful, by far the best belt I have ever owned.
Honestly I don't think you can go wrong either way. |

At this point I may just get a black one and get the brown one later. Still haven't decided exactly on that or bullhide or horsehide. |

Still haven't decided what color to get, leaning towards brown. But I could use some help with size exactly to get. On his website he says to measure the belt you currently use from the end of the buckle to the hole you use with your holster. The belt I've had for the longest time I don't even know what size it is, but I'm size 30 waist for jeans, so I'm guessing it's a 32. I have another belt I got because it was stiffer than my normal belt, size 34, with that I use the last hole. So measuring to that hole, even though the belt is pushing too big for me without a rig, would give me a good size since it's that length would be the middle hole on the belt, correct?
Simply, generally, your belt would be about 2 sizes larger than your pant/waist size for carrying, correct? P.S. Any pictures of Beltman belts in different colors are still welcome to help me make up my mind! |

I went through your exact same thought process. I called him and we talked. He explained how his measurements worked and I literally took off the belt I was wearing and measured from the used hole to the tip of the buckle. Perfect fit. For what its worth I am a 30 waist too (I thought I was the only one ) I ordered a 34 and its perfect. I got seven holes and I wear it i the center hole when I'm not carrying and one hole out when I am carrying IWB. I got brown horse hide with silver hardware. I can take a picture but that will have to wait till tomorrow sometime.

Haha we're few and far between. When you measured was it when you wear carrying IWB? And a picture would be great when you have time, Thanks! |

This is a size 34 horse belt. The buckle is square chrome model. Its 1.5 inches wide and almost a quarter thick. I did not get the internal stiffener because he told me horse was so much stiffer than bull hide. It was about $100 shipped. I am a 30x30 normal pants size and I wear it in the center hole when I'm not carrying and one hole out when I am carrying IWB.
Link to a huge picture (same one) In this picture the belt buckle is in the third hole. This is the position it would be in if I was carrying IWB. |

I measured to the most worn hole in my old belt which was the hole I actually used for both carrying IWB and not carrying. I had to keep my old belt much tighter to manage the holster correctly. NOW I use different holes depending on if I am carrying. |

I like the way that looks and I'm assuming whenever I get around to ordering it and receive it, I'll wear it exactly like you do. Then later down the road I'll get on all black one for shirt and tie occasions. Thanks again! |
