I know this may not be directly a carry issue so if you see fit to move it or delete it I understand, but in a round about way it is. Where are you guys finding/buying your blue jeans. In the past 2 years I have looked most any time I go out with the wife shopping and only found 3 pair (2 at Old Navy and even they don't have them anymore, 1 at IZOD in Nashville of all places) of blue jeans that I can actually wear. I've checked just about anywhere and everywhere that I can think of that stocks jeans and came up fairly empty handed. I WILL NOT wear a pair of the 'skinny jeans' that seam to be the only option right now. This is for 2 reasons... 1. They don't fit me! I have rather larger thighs and none of those jeans fit me right. 2. (and most important to me) It is very hard, if not impossible, to get a firearm to conceal in a pair of jeans that are already too tight to begin with.
So the search continues, where can I find a pair of jeans that both look presentable to wear out to eat and what-not, and also provide proper fit and function in terms of concealed carry? |
| Try a Harley Davidson dealership. I wear HD jeans exclusively, and its not because I ride Harley's (even tho' I do). They fit me the best, they have more than one style of fit (boot cut, relaxed, etc.). I get extremely long lasting wear from them. And, they don't scream Harley with insignia, etc, most people probably won't have a clue what brand they are. |
|
I always wore levis and they became terrible in quality, pair to pair fit etc.
I've changed to Carhartt's and been a lot happier, and a few friends are in agreement , the pair to pair fit is more consistent, also the belt loop location is consistent which helps with holster positioning. |

The sizing and cut of 501s work best for me. ... And now for my deep dark secret, a hold over from my poor, single dad, college days: I tend to pick them up at Goodwill or St Vinnie's, for ~$8 a pair. When I am carrying IWB, with a 5" 1911, I pick a pair with an extra 1-2" in the waist size (a 33 or 34, rather than my normal 32"). Using the same DeSantis holster with my 3" New Agent, I can stick with the 32s. |

Levi 569, Carhartt carpenter style, Lee premiums. I want to try some Duluth jeans, but I would really prefer to try them on in person before buying. ']I have a hard time finding jeans that fit my legs and ass without buying them 4"+ too big in the waist[/ That's my problem at lot of the times too. I'm a 32-34 waist depending on the pants/manufacturer, but most jeans now a days that I've tried on I have to get in a 36-38 waist before the legs fit and then the waist is so big a belt just bunches it up. Not worth buying. I'm definitely going to give some of these options you guys mentioned a closer look. I've always told myself I wouldn't pay over $25 for a pair of jeans, but it looks like i'm just going to have to pony up on a couple pair and make them last. Thanks for all the responses. |

American Eagle. I have another pair en route now actually.
$33 shipped after email flyer sale and free shipping. Relaxed fit or boot cut. Fuck going to the mall to shop too ETA: wife likes 'em, classy enough to wear to work on casual friday, and helps with the gray man look |

Timberland Relaxed Straight, ($64 retail but I buy mine at the outlets for around $42)
http://shop.timberland.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12462127 American Eagle Relaxed Straight (on sale now and have various colors at various prices) http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?productId=0112_2859_461&catId=cat20072 and Levi's 569. http://www.zappos.com/levis-mens-569-loose-straight-fit-tumbled-merlin-grey All non skinny and around $30-40 a pair if you look and shop. I have pairs of all three and have also found they have bigger sixes online they don't sell in stores. I wear a 42x34 for IWB. I carry everything from a Kahr PM( to a Springfield TRP Operator. |

I'm a Wrangler guy.
I've done a lot of bike riding over the years and have the calves and thighs to prove it, and don't fit "skinny" jeans either. The regular fit Wrangler jeans work well for me, fitting properly without being baggy, yet being comfortable and allowing ample freedom of movement. They also have a "relaxed fit", but that's a little too baggy for my tastes. They are also affordable at under $20 and they are available almost everywhere given they are a brand sold by Walmart. |

I have big thighs and a big butt too. My pants' waists are always bigger than I need too, but as far
as carrying goes it's an advantage - it allows my pistols to fit better without having to up the jean size too much. As far as types of jeans, I have recently started wearing Wranglers from Wal-Mart. I think the fit is relaxed straight; most pants, the upper legs are tight, the waist is loose, and getting stuff out of pockets is next to impossible when seated. With the Wranglers, they're comfortable on the legs without being baggy, and I can actually access my phone or whatever while seated. For carrying, that little bit extra in the waist I'd have had anyway to fit over my thighs and butt is just right for fitting a full-size Glock in an OF IWB holster. I can't speak too much on durability since I've only been wearing them a couple months, but so far so good. And even if they don't hold up (though I'm betting they will), they were under $17 and easily replaceable, so that's no big deal. Another plus - after they're washed, they don't need much of a "break-in" period - they're pretty comfortable right out of the dryer. Most other jeans I've had to wear for a couple hours or a couple days before they were loosened up enough to be comfortable. I'd highly recommend trying these jeans out. And if they don't work for you, you'll only be out $17. |
| Another vote for American Eagle, I get gift cards to there for most holidays for whatever reason and I'll pick up a pair or two. I even went down on my motorcycle in a pair that were over a year old and they still look like new. I don't buy tight jeans, jeans with holes/bejeweled skulls patterns, etc. and I'm always happy with the selection and quality for the price. |
| I like the wrangled with the U shape crotch they don't bunch up and squeeze the wrong places when you sit. I generally try to get the in a carpenter style. Also they are usually available in my size which is 30-34. Or 29-34. But when my permit comes in all the 32-34 pants I have will finally get some wear. I also wore the Harley pants and they are soooooo comfy but my ex wife doesn't let me use her employee discount anymore and they were a little pricey |

Every year around Christmas I go to Bass Pro and buy their Redhead Relaxed Fit jeans for $10/pair. It's a Black Friday special I believe. They fit great, hold up well, and are cheap as dirt. If you have a Bass Pro nearby check them out, I think they're normally $20-30 a pair.
Also have had luck in the past with Dickies jeans that I bought for work, equally cheap and they last for years. |
| I too have squat ass/thighs and normal, relaxed-fit jeans fit like skinny jeans. I prefer Levi's silvertab baggy jeans a size larger in the waist. Sadly they are no longer in production and haven't found my size lately. Lucky jeans (181 I think) a size larger in the waist fit really well too. Note: a size larger is based on true waist size. The jeans fit perfectly with a brick...eeerr...glock carried IWB. |

havnt bought jeans in years but i always wear anchor blue, believe they are out of business now so ill have to find some new jeans here soon enough as well.
i have the same issue my thighs/ ass are too damn fat to fit into most jeans comfortably without being obnoxiously baggy and i refuse to pay $100 for jeans that fit right. |
| Interesting fact about levi's .... they are publicly anti-gun. I quit wearing them years ago when it was first announced and now almost exclusively wear Wranglers. I'm a country boy and they have always fit me better than any other jean out there. Just thought you'd all like to know where Levi Strauss stands as a company. Its sad |

Its sad That's why they make their pockets so small, that way you cannot pocket carry easily.. |

There is a VF factory outlet near me. They sell Lees about half price, so I take advantage of that. I also have some Carrharts. My wife loves second hand stores (she was a single Mom till I came along) and she knows to snag Carrharts in my size, if she sees them.

| Nordstrom. I spend my time looking. I have a pair of Lucky's that are 8 years old, a pair of Guess' that are 5 years old. The Seven and Diesel jeans are only a couple years old. The problem is the manufacturer changes it up so it's not possible to go back and buy another pair. Expensive but they last a long time. |

Wranglers, why put your ass in anything else? I buy 5 pair every 12 to 18 months. Wow 5 pair every year. That's why you put your ass in something else. I've had the same 6 pair of 501's for at least 4 years and I don't see them wearing out anytime soon, unless I get bigger that is ;) |

I like the darker blue. For me, a tie, boots, and jacket is dressed up enough. The fiancé will find that out soon enough too. A hundred bucks to keep looking good? Get real. |
