Have 3 problems with the crossbreeds. First i have had the kydex crack 2 times. Also have my mag release let the mag release at least 5 times. Last time they had it they pushed the leather in where the release is. But its is still doing it. Then the last one is where the screws hold the clips on the holster it eats my jeans up.
Any one else have any of theses problems? Thinking of switching to another brand. I like the way the crossbreed fits. Very nice to wear all day. no problems with that. Just need something were if i need to pull my pistol out my mag does not drop out. Any ideas of ones to look at? Thanks for any help Stuck |
| I've been wearing mine pretty much everyday for the last few years, and while I haven't ran into any of the issues you have, I have read about the mag release issue. I have seen the leather trimmed in the release area, and I've seen guys take a large casing (.45 ACP) and use it as a punch to remove a circle of leather over the button. If you have a gun with an extended mag release that's usually the cause. |
| Although I loved the comfort of my Crossbreed, I certainly had the mag release issue with my Sig P229. As mentioned above, without doing any research to see if it was a common problem, I took it to myself to cut a hole in the leather where the mag release sits. It was fine after that, although I don't carry the Sig anymore. |
| Yep, my Crossbreed was causing mags to drop using a STANDARD mag release (not oversize) and a 1911. I'veswitched to a Glock-19 and will see how that works with the Supertuck w/combat cut I have on order. If it happens with the Glock I'll send it back and get something else. |

I had to dimple the leather at the mag release button. I also had to heat it up with a hair dryer and mold the kydex in the trigger area and ejection port to increase the retention a bit. My glock would come out way to easily at first............
No other issues here. |

Mine currently has cracked kydex. I have yet to see if they will cover it under the warranty. Been in daily service close to 5 years I would guess. PAR i just emailed them when mine cracked both times. they said send it in and we will send u another one. Then they sent me the wrong holster back after i got the right one the mag still comes out. no longer relase or anything. just a stock glock 30. i just put a order in for a mtac. hopefully i have better luck with them. Make sure if you carry with a crossbreed at the end of the day check ur mag and make sure its still in the gun. I lost one mag out sleding two years ago with the kids.

I think I am finally completely happy with my CBST. The metal clips were killing my belts and pants. It bothered me enough to try a Garrett Industries Silent Thunder holster. Excellent quality, great poly clips....unfortunately not nearly as comfortable as a CBST. In an unusual stroke of genius, I took the better clips off the Garrett and put them on the CBST...in an even more unusual fortunate coincidence, all the hardware from both holsters are interchangeable. So I have the flat hex screws, broader washers, and better clips off the Garrett and the original nutplates and rubber spacers from the CB. IWB bliss, finally.
I guess I need to keep an eye on the mag release issue...doesn't seem to bother my stock G23. |

I have used a CBST and gunbelt for over a year now. My main carry is a M&P 40FS. Have not had any mag releases or any damaged clothes yet. Not sure if it's from good luck or a great product. Either way, no complaints yet. I carried a full size M&P .40 or 9c in a horsehide Super Tuck every day for four years and my experience was the same as yours. My current carry is a SIG P20 Equinox Carry also in a horsehide Super Tuck and also with excellent results. I have crappy luck so it must be due to a great product. |

Just got my mtac in the mail today. It looks like it is made a lot better then the crossbreed. I like the way it fits better to. there is no way the mag relase can get pushed as well. Thanks for the advice on the mtac. i think its hands down a better holster then the crossbreed

Quoted: no problems here except holes in my tee shirts at 1530/1600 This. Almost every one of my shirts have holes in them now from the metal clips. Just got an Comp-Tac MTAC and have been wearing it for a few days now. Not quite as comfortable, but I don't think it's nearly broken in enough either. Yes, I know I can use the C or J clips with the CB, just wanted to try something different since I'd never owned a Comp-Tac before. |
