I have alot of full size autos and I am looking at getting a smaller one for concealed carry. right now its a toss up between the Kahr CW45 and the Ruger SR40C. both are about the same price range and both feel good. I have no idea what ones better or what problems they have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum..

| Why don't you try and conceal a full size auto before going out and buying another gun? I've got no problem w/ full sized guns and I'm not a huge guy, 5'8" and 190lbs, I can conceal a fullsize auto w/ some cant in my holster @ 3:00 pretty easily. But if your set on a compact, I have a G23 and a Ruger SR9c that are pretty nice to carry. The SR9c conceals VERY well w/ the 10 rd mag in. |

I have a Glock 21,22 and 4 Fullsize 1911's...I have the IWB holsters for the 1911 and the 21 how ever when its really hot and muggy here the lightest clothing is desired. With the fullsize pistols its really hard to not print the weapon. Our law states that printing a firearm is illegal and subject to loss of permit and fines... So I was hoping to get a smaller pistol that if I wear more comfortable clothing I wont print my pistol.. on a cool day or fall/winter I always carry the fullsize. I just think its time for a change for summer..
I just seen a Ruger SR40C Stainless for 429.99...Im thinking on biting on that.. |

Just be aware that the trigger may be a little gritty for the first couple hundred rounds, mine was, even after cleaning out the striker channel. Smoothed out and shoots great now, never had a malfunction with it, just over 800 rds through it so far. |

Give us a range report once you shoot it. Remember, when dry firing the SR40, have a magazine in! |

Since you already have a G21 and G22 I have no idea why you didn't get a G27 or a G30SF so you could have mag compatibility and a familiar platform... Not to mention the Ruger SR series is nothing more than a Glock copy in the first place |

Im 6' 165-170lbs.
I carry a FS M&P9 IWB at my appendix. I feel your pain OP, summer carry is a bitch. Some of my tighter T's print like a mofo. I can usually combat it by pulling the bottom of the shirt up a bit, so's to make it look like its wrinkled all around, kind of camouflages the print. I've never had anybody find me out yet. After much deliberation, Im currently in the market for a Ruger SR9C. |

You need to become familiar with more of the excellent choices that are available to you before limiting yourself to just those two.
The M&P 9c, and S&W Shield, come to mind but there are many, many, more worthy of your consideration from Glock, SIG, Walther, S&W, and the various 1911 manufacturers. |

Well let me just state that I already have glocks and some high quality 1911's. The reason for the interest in the Ruger SR40C is the price point and avalibility. Not sure if many know but Wisconsin has recently started as a Concealed Carry state. As over a hundred thousand permits have been handed out since november everyone and there mother are looking for a Pistol. Prices for things such as a Glock 30SF or compact 1911's have gone to new heights and way more than I am willing to pay for them knowing how much they use to be. I found the Ruger at a good price point. and it felt good in my hand. The money I save by getting the Ruger I can spend on ammo and practice getting use to the pistol and become more profficient in drawing the weapon. Some day do I plan on getting a compact 1911 or another glock? YES, but for now price point has me along with the size and caliber of the pistol..
FYI Before Concealed law: Glock 30SF $550 M&P 9C $520 Ruger SR40c $430 After Concealed Law: Glock 30 SF $625 M&P 9C $575 + Ruger SR40C $430 Its mad I say..MAD! |

Those hikes in prices are insane. I can pick up a brand new M&P at a major chain store here in NM for much less than that, not even shopping around for deals. My point axactly...Just cause I want one doesnt mean Im going to may more for it because demand is up... Especially when Im just looking for a smaller one for those really hot summer days...I pick the Ruger up on sunday evening :) |

true but I did want to try this pistol and see how it ran for myself and to be honest it runs great and shoots very well.. I like it as much as my glocks..
