As you've no doubt seen in the EMPTY YOUR POCKETS thread, I carry a lot of stuff.

I was just thinking that the things I use most for day to day tasks are my flashlight and knives.

I gotta carry a pistol, but I sure use the knives and lights more often.

And the Carmex.

Same here.  My leatherman supertool 300 (or Victorinox Swisstool Spirit) and a Fenix AA light get the most use by far.

I have a single AAA LED light from County Comm; I get up at 0430 during the weekdays and don't turn the lights on in the house so I don't wake up the wife and kids. So, I literally start using the thing when I wake up to find my way out of the house without breaking my neck .

Gotta love the kids leaving toys in the middle of the floor!  LOL

People laugh at my light...until they need it.

My Fenix PD30 is one of those things I thought I would carry sometimes then leave at home or in the car but I seriously carry that thing everywhere on me because I have had uses for it everywhere.
The knife is another valuable tool. I can't stand to carry a multi tool on me all day yet but I always have a knife and I abuse the hell out of it. Good ol' Spyderco Endura.
Other than that, my phone gets used quite a bit but sometimes I wish the towers would crap out and leave everyone in the dark and go back to landlines only...life would be much better IMO

While I don't carry as much as you do TR, I don't laugh at anyone who is prepared. Especially as an Eagle Scout, I would rather be overprepared than prepared for nothing.

I carry a Benchmade 910, and Surefire Back up everyday, even when I have to disarm to go to college. People give me the weird look to when I have a flashlight on me, but you never know when you will need it, and it has come in handy a couple of times.

I carry a gerber paraframe clipped to my front right pocket, PPS in an IWB holster @4, my phone (has a pretty bright flashlight app), and a lighter. I always have a multi tool that the NRA sent me in the car.

Not because I smoke (just a pipe once or twice a month) but because I play with the Zippo all the time.

I have a few of those lights. They are the absolute best for EDC because they are small, bright, and durable. I don't like to use a weapon light because I use the light all the time and it's not a good idea to point the gun at things you don't want to destroy.

I carry a streamlight with 2 AAA batteries, a Lamy Safari Fountain pen, knife, and small first aid in addition to my CCW wares.

The small light and pen are far and away the most used. Band-aids from the first aid kit next, then the knife (unrelated to the band-aids, I swear). Lighter gets used a few times a week. I have 2 or 3 cigars a month- but the lighter gets used far more than that.

Besides a pistol and spare mags...

My EDC includes:
- Leatherman Charge Ti
- Kershaw Turbulance or Blur
- Fenix LD10, Nitecore D10, or Quark AA
- Photon II on keyring
- Mini Bic Lighter
- Flint

I carry primary and backup items for 3 categories.  Something to cut; something to illuminate, and something to light (burn).

It's worked fine for me so far.

Handgun with reload
Knife
Light
Lighter
Folded Kerchief
Cell. phone
Wallet and keys
Glasses (I'm "Mature").
I use the cell., wallet contents and keys more often than the rest. Typically use the light and knife daily for various chores.

Dosn't matter how hot or cold, or if I am wearing dress pants, I have a pair of boots and good socks in my truck ready to go (if I don't have them on already).

This is solid advice. I always have a light work coat in my truck, in case I need to crawl underneath the truck for a tire change or some such.

Okay, I just type a bunch of information and it got deleted. So let me try this again....forgive me if it takes multiple posts...the computer I'm on is less than optimal.

Yo Big Tex...you inspired me to do this. So let's have at it.

On body first.

My piece rides on the $30 Talon Tactical gunbelt.

Two more fifteen rounders, Mo' Ammo, Mo' Betta. 147 grain HST or Ranger-T, whatever I got my hands on.

The spread....tablet, I'm not really tech-savvy too much, but it helps me handle work and school emails.  Flag, different color depending on what set I rep that day. Just kidding, more like wiping slobber off my little cousins' mouths. Ya'll already saw the card tool above. Cash in and out of wallet. Don't normally carry that much, jbut you know...it's Christmas...kids be out sniffin' for it.  Always keep a quick dollar on body to hand to someone if they ask. Might descalate a situation, might show that you tried to help someone out who still got aggressive on you afterwards.

Android with the M4 holdin' thangs down.

Kershaw blur S30V, I keep it sharpened. A micro-swiss on the keychain, along with a coin-style screwdriver.

$5 MAXAM multitool which has gotten me by fixing sinks and stuff so far until I can get a new AR multitasker after SHOT next year, saving my pennies. Business cards because, folks ask....and I like to help out and make sure I can be contacted.

Surefire 6P Defender...soon to be upgraded with TNVC Q5 for Christmas. Simple lanyard attached to the kydex pocket clip. Practice your pistol/light methods ya'll.... that junk ain't fun, at least, not to me.

Ok, let's go off body.

Bag is on me almost at all times. If not, then right bside me. Main compartment is spacious and stays empty, gets filled as needed. Study material for the library, lunch and tools for work, ammo for the range, clothes for travel, you get the point.  That Garmin Foretrex 401 GPS stays with me at all times, has stuff marked and routed all around the state and then some.

Side compartment has everything I need to eat and do hygiene. Including cocoa butter for my delicate skin.... Bottom compartment has a $30 Energizer flashlight that takes AAs and does 80 lumens of white light, has a low mode, and does red and green LED. Also a blowout kit, because...you never know....with some other medical.

Other items in the smaller pockets. Got tons of micro USB chargers and adapters for my devices, bluetooth headset, couple of memory drives. The tabasco, gum, NSAIDs, and naproxens just help me deal with  the day. Those get leached the most. Oh yeah, that camera I used to take most of these shots. Loupe, strike tool for metal detectors.

Not shown: Folded up rain jacket and shemagh stuffed in the back of the pack, another coin style screwdriver and swiss army knife chained to a link on the interior, metal-covered bible, sometimes a rifle and pistol mag, extra batts for the lights, camera, and GPS. Laser pointer for the impromptu presentation that I always find myself giving. Tons of pencils and pens and a couple notepads. And some flat style P-38 and P-51 can openers.

Exactly.  Was conducting a new-hire interview in an interior basement room when the power went out.  Two beats later I had the Quark out and was leading everyone to a windowed hallway.
