As you've no doubt seen in the EMPTY YOUR POCKETS thread, I carry a lot of stuff.
I was just thinking that the things I use most for day to day tasks are my flashlight and knives. I gotta carry a pistol, but I sure use the knives and lights more often. And the Carmex. |

I have a single AAA LED light from County Comm; I get up at 0430 during the weekdays and don't turn the lights on in the house so I don't wake up the wife and kids. So, I literally start using the thing when I wake up to find my way out of the house without breaking my neck |

People laugh at my light...until they need it. My Fenix PD30 is one of those things I thought I would carry sometimes then leave at home or in the car but I seriously carry that thing everywhere on me because I have had uses for it everywhere. The knife is another valuable tool. I can't stand to carry a multi tool on me all day yet but I always have a knife and I abuse the hell out of it. Good ol' Spyderco Endura. Other than that, my phone gets used quite a bit but sometimes I wish the towers would crap out and leave everyone in the dark and go back to landlines only...life would be much better IMO While I don't carry as much as you do TR, I don't laugh at anyone who is prepared. Especially as an Eagle Scout, I would rather be overprepared than prepared for nothing. |

My buddy's giving me a SOG multitool for christmas. Looks like I'm gonna need to figure out where to put it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile you must be a big guy... you carry all that stuff, and look totally normal. I'm so small I'd look all misshappen if I had all that gear. |

They are the absolute best for EDC because they are small, bright, and durable. I don't like to use a weapon light because I use the light all the time and it's not a good idea to point the gun at things you don't want to destroy. |
|
I carry a streamlight with 2 AAA batteries, a Lamy Safari Fountain pen, knife, and small first aid in addition to my CCW wares.
The small light and pen are far and away the most used. Band-aids from the first aid kit next, then the knife (unrelated to the band-aids, I swear). Lighter gets used a few times a week. I have 2 or 3 cigars a month- but the lighter gets used far more than that. |
|
Besides a pistol and spare mags...
My EDC includes: - Leatherman Charge Ti - Kershaw Turbulance or Blur - Fenix LD10, Nitecore D10, or Quark AA - Photon II on keyring - Mini Bic Lighter - Flint I carry primary and backup items for 3 categories. Something to cut; something to illuminate, and something to light (burn). It's worked fine for me so far. |
|
I carry some basics all the time:
Handgun with reload Knife Light Lighter Folded Kerchief Cell. phone Wallet and keys Glasses (I'm "Mature"). I use the cell., wallet contents and keys more often than the rest. Typically use the light and knife daily for various chores. |

No matter where I go or what I do, I have at least one pair of boots which are good for major walking in my truck.
Dosn't matter how hot or cold, or if I am wearing dress pants, I have a pair of boots and good socks in my truck ready to go (if I don't have them on already). |

I always have a light work coat in my truck, in case I need to crawl underneath the truck for a tire change or some such. |

Damn, if we start going through what I have in my car and laptop bag, this is going to be a hell of a long thread!
But yes, in MN boots and extra clothes are important for the above and other reasons too! |

To further my post, a good pair of shoes which are good for walking a few miles and changing a flat tire are part of my EDC. Its pretty rare I wear something which would not be suitable for these tasks and keep them in my vehicle ready to go. |

Any problems with the switch with the clip attached? |

No problems at all. Must take off oring to install and then put it back on. You have two options. If you choose the kydex, make sure to follow the guy's instructions to save a few bucks. Links incoming....

Well, I've been carrying a SOG Pocket PowerPlier multitool on my belt for more than a week nOw, and I use it every day. Mostly for the pliers and bottle opener.
This thread is about the carry stuff use use every day. Like pocket knives, zippos, and flashlights. Just FYI. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

People laugh at my light...until they need it. Exactly. Was conducting a new-hire interview in an interior basement room when the power went out. Two beats later I had the Quark out and was leading everyone to a windowed hallway. |
