| So I got my VZ-58 all setup and finally got to the range with it. I installed a factory folder for the looks, but being 6'5" and my cheek position I caught the receiver in the nose half the rounds. With one (the first) a painful way. So I need to swap out the stock and I think I want to mount a RDS or 1-4x scope on it. What do you guys suggest? I was thinking a CNC Warrior block and ACE style stock as I have them installed on a lot of my guns. How about the MAKO/Fab Defense stock too? |

I personally have the Mako UAS-VZP folding stock on my rifle and I love it. I was having the same problem about my nose bumping into the dust cover, so I replaced the stock with the UAS-VZP. Don't worry about the polymer knuckle. It locks right up tight and it has NO wiggle when it is locked. I mean it has less wiggle than a fixed stock. Incredible, especially if you want to put an optic on your VZ. Optics mean you need a cheek riser and this stock has an adjustable one built in. And you can configure which side you want the stock to fold to! Worth every penny.
For optics, I bought the FAB VFR-VZ aluminum rails. I have a Mepro TRU-DOT RDS on mine. These are a great set of rails. They are not QD for easy cleaning, but they do go on nice and tight to the receiver and do help a little bit with keeping the heat down. However, keep in mind that you will need to do some fitting to make them work for your rifle. If you haven't already done so, I would recommend upgrading the pistol grip to the FAB while you have the rest of the gun apart. Remember, blue loctite is your friend! |
