Hey guys,

More M85 related questions. I want to put one of these on my M85 https://www.k-var.com/shop/AK-431R.html , is this feasible? There are a couple of reputable gunsmiths in the area that I'm sure could do the work, but I'm curious how much I would be looking at cost-wise. Just want to be sure I'm not being had because I'm not exactly stacked with $$$. I also plan on spot-welding a fake can on until I can go through with the whole tax stamp process and SBR. Thanks for any advice,

Cheers,
VB

Yes you can put it on, but it is a big project. The gun has to be tore completely apart to machine the front trunion for the latch. I'm doing the same thing to my M92. I'm just going o send it, the gun, the stock kit, and a new side folder receiver and use that or the build.

I was told $400 to do it by Troy at In Range and he is who I will be using when he starts taking new work again.

Gotcha, I'm planning on stopping by the closest of the two gunsmiths in my area and asking about doing the build, I'd like to keep the original receiver just so all the number are still matching and whatnot, but I'll weigh the costs when I get and estimate from him I suppose.

Wait a few weeks and I will have a very easy solution for this.  Shoot me a PM if interested.
