| any suggestions on the who is selling the best kits ???? is it best to buy a kit with the barrel included, sarco is offering kits with a few options. i see project guns will build your kit using a new barrel. i was going to have them do the build, might this be the best way to go ?????? |
| I'm getting a MGS kit, receiver, and semi conversion. I found a guy on weapons guild that you can send the receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, and semi parts kit to and he will do all the machining and fitting for $165. All thats left is finding someone to press in my barrel(tons of guys in my HTF will be more than willing to help) and file down the trigger housing 1/8th" to fit the the semi receiver. Total cost for the finished weapon will be less than just the build cost of project guns. I've been obsessing about this quite a bit now and can point you to other forums if you have any other questions OP. |

Quoted:
military gun supply for the kit. Stay away from the U.S. barrel, cost more to have project guns build a kit using it. +1. Got mine from MGS and it was pristine. I believe the factory barrel is cold hammer forged. Probably not a big deal for semi's, but still nice to have! |

I'm going to be shooting the cheapest surplus I can get. |

Update to the list, MGS told me today that they will NOT be getting any more receivers in and to just order one from DSA. MGS said their parts kits should be in by the end of the month and they should be $149. DSA says receivers are 60-90 day back order. DSA says that the MGS original barrels should press right into the receivers with no modification.
Cost are approx RPD kit - $450 DSA receiver - ~$379.95 SEMI parts - ~$149 bolt/carrier machining - $165 various shipping for all back and forths ~$50 total build cost = right at just the build cost to send to any number of builders. |
