I am going to have project guns build me a RPD but can't decide between the stock version or the short version with the 16" barrel, shortened bipod and nutsack for +$250. What do you think?

Going short compensates for your 'long' comings

I've wanted a shorty RPD ever since someone posted a picture of the Rhodesian guys with one. It looked sweet.

I'm buying a Polish RPD kit from Military Gun Supply and taking it to Wise Lite Arms as they are about 20 minutes from me.
I was wanting to have the barrel cut and the m60 flash hider put on with bipod cut and nutsack. So my question is why keep
the barrel long?

I decided on the long barrel version. I am going to keep it original and not modify the rifle at all.
