Just bought an RPD kit from Military Gun Supply. Bought their grade 1 kit instead of the cheaper one and was pleased to see the condition. This rifle appears to never have been fired! There is no wear or marks on the feed tray nor the belt feed pawls. Actually, I can't find any wear or marks anywhere on the kit and the barrel looks new. Pretty happy with this purchase.
The kit will be sent to Project Guns very soon for them to work their magic on it. I figure I'll go with the "Shorty" build which includes chopping the barrel to 16", installing an M60 flash hider, shortening the bipod, and installing an adapter to allow use of the M249 SAW ammo bags. Just a "heads up" if anyone is considering having an RPD built. MGS's kits are great (at least mine was/is). |
| i bought the grade 1 and as you said it was like new, sent it to project gun for a build. i then bought a grade 2 so i could build one my self, the grade 2 is darn near as good as the gr. 1. i don't feel the need to spend the extra 100 bucks for a grade 1 when the grade 2's are so nice |

This sounds like a good deal but will you conform that the barrel has not been de-milled? I won't "conform" but will "confirm" that the barrel was unmolested. No holes, cuts, nor other shenanigans. It's useable. However, I'd ask before ordering one of these just to ensure that you're getting a good barrel. |
