Just got back from the creek where i picked up two polish rpd kits. Payed more than I should have, but i got to hand pick them, so I guess i came out alright.
Anyways i know project guns is doing semi auto builds and I intend to have them build one of the kits up into a semi auto gun, however the other I intend to build up as a post sample once my licensing gets here. My question then is are the wise lite recievers that are semi auto able to be converted for full auto? Its my understanding that the recievers are machined with smaller rails for the op rod group to ride in and hence the op rod carrier needs to be machined to fit in the semi auto builds. I assume if the rail slots are opened up larger then the reciever could be used for a post sample build, is this correct? Is there anything else that is different in the wise lite recievers that make them un usable for a post sample build? I would like to use a new reciever instead of a reweld if possible. Thanks Pat |

Actually thats my plan, i ran into him down at the creek when i was picking up my kits and we got to talking. Hes not gona be back for a few days so i was just seeing if i could get an answer quicker on here.
Do you know what the build time they are quoting is by chance? I know you have your kit in already right? Pat |

The conversion is really simple.
When I did my postie, I got the instructions from Vector. My postie is a title 1 receiver with a Form 2'd bolt carrier. The heigth of the rails on the carrier need to be lowered (from the top). Also, the front of the trigger/grip housing needs to be shortened to fit correctly. That's it. These are really fun guns. My bud in Fla just got his postie SBR'd. Pretty cool. |
