I'm not sure if you'll find many folks that will sing praise about promag products, I can tell you that their 5.45x39 mags won't fit without some filing, I don't know about the 5.56 mags from them but i wouldn't trust them. As for centerfirs systems, I think they'r eprices are on the high side but that's just me.

I've got 4. They took some filing, but they work fine now. I've never had a problem with them.

Having said that, I intend to replace them with steel because I don't trust them with my life.

Well, ya get what ya pay for. I would spend the extra 3 or 4 dollars and get good mags.

I have Polish and Russian polymer, and EG bakelite mags and they are all great. Anything made by a Kalish country and for the AK is a tough as nails product. Steel is good as well but a bit heavier for little to no advantage IMO. Promag is a cheapo brand that has changed the design of AK mags to save money (ie, thin plastic, no steel feed lips, unless you have a Saiga 12ga I'd look elswhere.
