Hi, I'm considering getting a galil kit and receiver plus whatever compliance parts I need and am wondering about building.  Can you guys recommend some builders, or would it be relatively easy for me to build it myself?  Any special tools required?  Also, how many compliance parts are needed for this rifle and where can I get them?

Thanks,
Mark

If you have ever built and AK, you can definitely build this one. The only riveting that you have to do is the trigger guard. The barrels are already recessed for bolt clearance and you just have to screw on the barrel. The receiver, barrel, G2 trigger group and pistol grip from Ace stock get you the required 6 parts.

Hope this helps.

thanks,
Ron

I see kits coome with a new barrel. Do these barrels, say from ORF, need drilled for the gas port and the FSB pins? Ive built severl AK's, but am wondering about doing all the drilling for the FSB. I have a overhead drill press, but the port size and angle worry me. ANy help would be appreciated.

You can drill the FSB pin holes by hand in just a few minutes.  The block is your guide.  The gas pot can easily be drilled after the FSB is on.  Just use the hole in the FSB as your guide.  Put a dowel in the bbl so you dont gouge the rifling on the other side.  You need two long drill bits for this.  I posted the size on this bord here.  If you search its there.
I thought you only needed 5 compliance parts for a milled receiver build.
