ORF Galil milled receiver does not have the reinforced receiver characteristic on right hand interior receiver wall around axis pin holes (thicker wall areas around axis pin holes) that I've seen on other AK milled receivers.  Is this normal for Galil receivers?

I don't have a Galil...

but I looked at my Valmet 62 receiver and compared it to my Arsenal SA M-7 and they look to be the same thickness.

Is there something specific I should look for?

The IMI receivers have the reinforced areas.

The reinforced area on the right interior I was trying to describe is a very pronounced shelf around the axis pin holes where the receiver wall is thicker by approx .043

FWIW - I was talking to one guy who told his IMI SAR receiver did not have the reinforced receiver areas but that his IMI ARM receiver did have them.

Here's the inside of my IMI receiver. I got it as a stripped receiver back in 2002, so I don't know for which model it was originally intended.

Thanks TapperMan.

Looks like more meat was left on hammer axis pin area than the trigger area - makes sense.

I don't know why ORF mills theirs down flush but trying to piece the answer together.  Maybe IMI did it by model or chronological order - meaning later ones they deleted the reinformecd areas.  Just don't know yet.

Granted once you program it into you cnc mill it is not a big deal, but, it is additional steps in the milling process. It is easy to understand if the Israelies and ORF eliminated it.
