Are there any quality differences between South African steel magazines and IMI steel magazines, or are they the same?

AFAIK, IMI and SA R4 mags are said to be similar in quality.

I have both. The metal is of the same quality. The finish is different, with the SAs having a more matte finish thats not quite as thick as the Israeli versions. SAs function 100% and are identical since they were made on Israeli designed tooling.

I'll let you in on a little secret, too late I'm sure.

You can get new R4 mags for $20/ea, if you buy 20 or more.

How are the synthetic/Orlite mags for the Galil? I was less than impressed with the M16 mags (weren't they actually for the Galil M16 mag adapter?) but I wonder if the Orlites for the Galil are ok?

They....look slick! ;) but I would rather a mag work.

I have 4 orlites for my Galil & they work great.
