Hello,
What is the thread pitch and size on an original Galil ? Does any one also know what the vortex thread and pitch is ? I uncrewed the Vortex and went to replace it with an original Galil, the original Galil was much larger hole diameter (in the FH ) and finer thread. It looks like I will need to make an adapter or bushing the put the galil FH on this barrel. Thanks Nitro |

Hello,
FH is sorted out. The 2 galil FH I have ( Ported and slotted ) are both 1/2 - 24 RH The Phantom is also 1/2 - 24 RH just FUBAR by the angry beavers at CAI. 
I was able to clean up the barrel and FH threads with a tap and die. The barrel threads were savable, but I may shorten it by 1/4" and cut a 1/4" of new threads. I will have to check the barrel length and make sure I can do it and be legal. If not it will just have to do. Thanks |
