Friend has a 397s that he may sell or trade and I havent been keeping up on the prices. What do yall think it should bring?  Not sure who imported it...
Looks just like the 386 that I had but I think it was a later version of the same.

The last couple of Galils to sell on GB were all over $3000... keep in mind this is what people are willing to pay, and not the actual "value" of the rifle.

Keep in mind that the S suffix Galils are all post-'89 ban and must have enough US made parts to be in compliance with 922r.  They are not worth as much as a true pre-'89 ban rifle.

I have a NIB 392s ARM, and a few yeasr ago when I was considering selling /trading it, I found the prices that people were willing to pay for it were quite insulting.  I guess with all of those "whip-daddy" GOLANIs on the market, those lowly action arms or springfield -imported REAL IMI guns are pretty much worthless.  Offer your buddy a few hundred bucks for it, and tell him he's lucky to get THAT, better yet, tell he's stupid if he thinks it worth anything close to what a golani is worth, then insult his mother.  This seems to be the way that real GALIL collectors act.  Okay, I know that this is not fair to ALL galil collectors/owners, but I was really suprised at the way that the "S" guns were devalued.

I would rather have an "S" model IMI with the right number of US parts than three Golanis.

I've been keeping my eye on these on gunbroker for the last year or so.  Most "S" models in good shape with some mags and a few other accessories were bringing $1,800-$2,200 depending on overall condition, number of mags, sling, etc.

Now that Obama's in office, I've seen rifles that were selling for $1,800 in September bring $2,500+ over these last few months.  But I assume that's mostly panic buying.

Its funny how a little thing, like democrats in the white house, can so heavily influence the price of the "lowly s-model galils".   It's nice to hear that they may finally start to be worth a fair market price, no thanks to the a@@holes that I've dealt with in the recent past.

The "S" models are just as good as the "non-S" models––- besides, what would you add to an "S" model, configured from the factory as a "non-S" model, any way!!!
