Hey man I got a 'GLN' serial number about 3 weeks ago from J&G.  Those are supposed to be the 'new,' fixed ones.  With that being said, I thought it was poorly made and just didn't like the feel of it.  I sold it immediately to someone that wanted it worse than me.  Went out and bought a new Stag AR-15 M1.  The Golani just didn't look good and the dust cover is a major pain!  For 279 more I got a new Stag.  Buy at your own risk.  I've been around rifles for a long time and Century is junk.

To be honest with you, buying a Golani is a "crap shoot"...and you never know what you got till you get it out to the range. Having said this, mine has been perfect from day #2 after I de-cosmolined the magazines, polished the feed ramp, and just generally cleaned and properly greased the rifle. I have about 2500 rounds through the gun in two years without a hiccup since. Mine is a very early ORF model with no "peening"...whoever at Century did my build, knew what he was doing and it must have been a good kit, and the reciever must have been properly heat treated. Fit and finish is fine. The more I shoot it, the more I like it. There is a thread on UZI.COM at the moment with Golani owners like myself who like their guns, you might want to read it. You are probably better off saving your $ and buying an Arsenal AK in .223...but with a little luck and persistance a Golani might work for you.
