| I have seen them, they are priced fairly well, but I have read a lot on the web about quite a few companies having issues with putting out functioning rifles. I guess my question really is, what company is the best company to buy from who is making Galils today, and why? I really have the need for one, but after reading a bunch of horror stories, I'm a bit shy. |
| I also have a Century Golani/Galil. I know its a Century rifle, but I have to say so far Im impressed. It functions flawlessly, except with Wolf ammo. Both IMI steel and Orlite magazines work perfect. Just waiting now to see if the AR/M16 magazine adapter will work with no problems. |

My Century Galil looks and feels great. Had it out today and had some failure to feeds with my favorite handload. Now to figure out what ammo it likes or if its a mag issue. I didn't realize the Galil was ammo picky considering its AK background. Ohio Rapid Fire is making their own receiver and, I believe, assembling them too. http://fototime.com/0292A8D2C2389FA/standard.jpg |
Do a little searching on elite firearms. They do not have the best reputation. |

Do all Century arms Galil/Golani rifles have Ohio Rapid Fire (ORF) receivers? I looked at a Century Arms Galil but I could not find the OEM for the receiver, only Century markings. Other than original milled IMI receivers, are ORF Galil receivers the only milled receivers available that is closest to the IMI design? Thanks! |

I have a Century Galil it is my second one and it works great! I paid around $700 and got a great rifle. This Galil has a serial number over 4000. It is very tight: the mags (steel) fit great, the handgaurd fits tight (was loose on my first one) and the receiver cover even fits a little too snug. I like it allot and its fun to shoot. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm256/Frankl03/IMG_3131.jpg |
| My Century Golani is sloppy in the mag well area so steel mags give nothing but problems. The bulkier Orlite mag fits tight in the mag well which cured the issue. My s/n is in the 2600 range. The flash hider unscrewed itself but that's an easy fix. I like it now, think it's neat design. Just wish the left safety worked in the same direction as the original Galil. |
| My "first" was in the 23xx range. Shot great, but about 600 rounds after I got it the locking lug on the ejection port side was all beat to crap. Sent it back to Century and they built me a new gun with the same serial #. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet because it came with a broken front sight screw. Hopefully that is the only thing wrong with it. |
