With some very easy sanding of the front ledge, the Pro Mag locked up and was acceptably tight---it worked, afterall, so that's what counts.

I only fired 60 rounds, but they went without a hitch.  3 US parts to boot.

Alas, the followers and floorplates won't fit the OEM Yugo mag.  But then you can't have evrything for $15.

Your saying they work in the M95s? Is that the same mag Copes is selling for 15.00?

That would be the one.

What exactly did you have to do to the mag?

The protrusion on the mag which fits under the rifle's mag release catch has to be sanded very slightly to allow the mag catch to close completely on it.

A possibly important consideration of the Yugo M90/95 (at least when it comes to the NoDakSpud receiver) is exactly how you modified the rifle in order to allow correct magazine lock-up.  As any of us who built a .223 Yugo on the NDS receiver know, certain modifications have to be made to the mag catch (lengthen it) or the safety lever stop plate (remove it) in order to allow the magazine to seat properly up against the bolt carrier rails.

In my case, I removed the safety lever stop plate and mounted a cut-down version of it on top of the trigger guard.  Others, like Hikerlt, chose to keep the plate in place and lengthen the mag catch.  Both methods achieve the same goal: allowing the mag lips to seat against the rails while still achieving lock-up at the mag catch.

To be more precise, the Pro Mag .223 magazines will work on a Yugo M90/95 that has had the mag catch "system" modified by the removal of the stop plate rather than by the lengthening of the mag catch itself.

Can you use the "correct" yugo M90/95 mags in a rifle built on an NDS receiver with NO modification to the mag catch or selector stop plate? Or will the mag catch lengthening or removal of the stop plate be required for proper lock-up regardless of the type of mag used??? -I am bulding one of these kits down the road after i finish up 2 romy G kits; that's why i ask.

To the best of my knowledge and based on various reports from others who built the M90/95 with the NDS receiver, some modification to the lock system is required.

A report on the Vulcan .223 receiver, however, indicates that with the Vulcan you do not have to make any serious modifications other than the normal fitting.

What do you have for a selector stop then? What fire control group did you use?

The modified selector stop still serves to keep the selector lever from going too far down, its original purpose.  I used the TAPCO control group.

I wonder if the 2nd run of NDS/DCI receivers will require this mod? I got my name on the list, might want to ask Harlan i guess.
