I should have known better to trust Centerfire and their Yugo kits. No where in the ad or website did they mention that their fixed stocked yugo kits had parts missing and no bores. In fact they said the kits were in very good condition. Called to return, they'll take it back, but won't issue a call tag for UPS pick-up. So if you order from Centerfire, call first and ask about the condition of the kits and if everything is there. You can't trust them to tell you everything in their ads.

Call and talk to them. I've had nothing but dealings with Centerfire.  They will make adjustments. Read some of the threads here, almost all of them refer to dark bores. The bores are not chrome lined and mine looked like it had never been cleaned. However it did clean up nice.

Moral of the story: Don't grade just send out means ruining your reputation. Charge the customer for your foo-pah to send them back, for your mistake ruins your reputation. Send them out to others who do the same thing will ruin your reputation. Adverstise product condition and taking money by exaggeration will ruin your reputation. It's like a disease.

Most of the people who work their are nice people, but hey it did dent them in the hearst and souls of many. I still have not received the number of  kits I ordered and never heard a word back from them. Maybe it was devine intervention.

My buddy received sewer pipes from them, he was level headed pissed off, so no coy toying here.

Very messy to say the least. Very sad situation. Maybe Buddy @ Tapco can go over and give them a copy of the book on customer relations. Tee-hee. Hey shit happens.

Hmmm???

I ordered a pair of M70's from Centerfire and they were cherry.  I had heard of a few getting bad kits, but Centerfire made them good.  Have always had the best of luck dealing with them.

Given any choice, I will never do business with CFS again.

I ordered several Yugo AK kits, as advertised  by CFS in "Very Good" condition.   They sent me the worst junk I've seen in 30 years of shooting, 20 years of that as a licensed firearms dealer.

Called "Lois" who gave me an RMA number but refused to agree to send replacement kits when I asked if the replacement kits were bad too would CFS pay for the return shipping.  Such a sweet gal!  Its CFS policy not to refund customer shipping (its right on their web site).  So I'm out the cost of return shipping too.

I personally know three other CFS customers that received junky Yugo AK kits.  They too had to eat the shipping.

CFS knew damn well they were shipping out junk.  They've just about ruined the entire Yugo AK kit market.  Right now there are about a half-dozen dealers desperately (shadily) trying to unload CFS Yugo AK kits with (at least) rotten barrels.  One ill deed spreads out like ripples in a pond.  All traceable back to CFS's lack of ethics.

I've been an honest dealer for 20 years.  Its not easy being honest these days.  I could have kept the kits and foisted them off on some other users thru an auction site or such.  But I didn't! I don't work like that.  Jesus told us "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

So it  really burns me when a large distributor knowingly ships junk because they know they are not at any risk by doing so, since the customer pays to return their mistakes.  Such underhanded arrogance REALLY steams me.

And no one seems to care.   CFS has not been called to explain its actions on any AK web site.  CFS has not been banned at any AK web site.

I guess the moral is that if you are big enough, pay off enough people  (i.e. sponsor the right web sites) and take special care of the "special few" (the web site owners and ops), that all you have to do is stonewall and then your followers  will villify anyone who dares critcize you and declare that  the perfidy is irrelevant and "old business."

The shame of it is, it seems to be working.  On Gunboards.com,for instance, they just nuked  a very effective criticism of CFS because CFS is a sponsor.

It would be nice if there were a shooting web site that stood up for the little guy.

Not to piss on the parade, but what you may call Cherry and what really is Cherry are most times not even close, I have found. Post up a picture of the one you got and i will do the same.

I did get a Cherry kit from them, that others have seen and I must admit it was brand new unfired!

It will be perfect for replacement parts for my pre-ban one day.

That is Cherry Mint.

Oh, no problem AKE.  I didn't mean to make sound like you were wrong, it's just I was a little surprised.  Everyone I know loves Centerfire.  Sorry if I came across the wrong way.

But here's a link to one of my Yugo builds:

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=89&t=72823

The barrels were in new condition with no rusting or pitting at all.  The wood was a little beaten up, but not bad.  and the finish was 90+% or better on the rest of the metal.

Take a look and let me know what you think.  Some people do disagree with my opinions because I'm more of a functionality type of person more so then being authentic.
