I'm curious- has anyone purchased a Yugo kit yet that has spot welds holding the receiver to the trunnions? I bought a couple of kits, and my select kit has spot welds, one on the rear and two on the front and apparently has been arsenal refinished at some point-has anyone else seen or heard of this?                                                                                                                                                        Thanks, Dave.

oranda1, first of all welcome. To address your question. I have a fixed stock Yugo kit and it had spot welds as well.  On the rear trunnion there was one weld on each side between the 2 rivets. However it didn't take well from the factory so after removing the rivets I gently pryed the receiver loose  from the rear. On the front trunnion there are 2 welds on each side.  One was just in front of the magwell rivet and one in front of the top trunnion rivet.  I just drilled deep enough to allow the welds to break free.  Just through the old receiver metal.  Also in case you don't already know, the lower front rivet goes all of the way through trunnion.

I hadn't heard any talk on any of the forums about the spotwelds and thought maybe they weren't very common. Thanks, Dave.

North Korean AKMs have numerous items spot welded to the receiver that others do not do.

And everyone says welding on a trunnion is bad news
