My M70AB2 is missing a rivet as I noticed last night when I was rearranging things in the safe. What concerns me is I know it was there prior to my last range trip. It is the round headed rivet on the right side just above the pistol grip. Anyone have a spare rivet they are willing to part with or know a source for singles?

You can buy the entire rivet kit here for $9 plus shipping, but I believe you need a press and a jig of some kind to do the work.

AK-Builder

You could also take it to a gunsmith who has the tools and see if he also has the rivet you need.

... or you could tap some threads and "screw" it. ;-)

I have access to a press and have a jig that will work for it. I will probably just order the full set. Thanks.

A buddy of mine brought over a CAI underfold that had all of the rear trunnion rivets loose.  Instead of a nice shop tail on the inside of the receiver, they were flush as if rivets were used that were too short.  We drilled them all out and installed new ones.  I've come to expect that from century arms.  Another guy had a loose rivet in the front trunnion and we had to pull the barrel to fix that one.   Its century arms and the monkeys they have working for them.

Thinking it might be a fluke on this one. I have had it for almost a decade and it has had several thousand rounds through it. This was bought back when Century was not touching Yugos and were only the importer.

I thought thats when they started importing the kits and assembling them.  Ok.  The original guns weren't parkerized, they were blued.  It weird that yours has parkerized parts.

I actually bought it used from someone who had it for a couple of years before I got it from him. He didn't like the under folder and had a line on a fixed stock.

Looking at it closer this may have been a century build afterall, although they did technically farm out their Yugo builds. It is on a DC receiver and must have been built just after the ban expired. It looked almost unfired when I bought it but is threaded with the bayo lug attached and is the correct 1.5 receiver. I was thinking the guy I got it from said he had it a while but I have had it for a little over 9 years which would have put it just after the ban if he bought it new (which he said he did) or pre-ban (which is unlikely). Hard to remember all of the details that many years and that many guns ago.
