I recently decided to get back into the "darkside" of semi autos again and had a few questions I didnt see posted before. I recently purchased a Waffen Werks AK-74 and am looking to add a 7.62x39mm AKM as well. In your opinion is the newer WASR-10s better or as good as say the CAI Yugo Paps? Is the Yugo buttstock length of pull longer than most other AKM's? I am taller so I like more length in the stock similar to American made rifles. The shorter length and lack of good check weld is what made me shy away from AKs before but now see all the options for stocks can change all that. I just really am drawn to the AK style rifles. Thanks

I am new to the AK game. Picked up my first WASR a few weeks ago. It is a great shooter, especially for $499. I popped an RPK rear sight on it since the front sight tower was ever so slightly canted. It is more accurate than I thought it would be and is a good lead slinger. The stock was on the rough side, so I sanded it and rubbed some tung oil in.

Flip a coin. You're going to get both eventually, so it doesn't matter which one you buy first.

For me it would be neither.  If I were in the market for a quality AK and wasn't looking specifically for a Yugo, I would get a Vepr and outfit it to suit me.
