While back, I purchased a M64 kit from a member here, which turned out to be in fantastic condition.
Sent it off to steve at Two Rivers Arms, and just got it back today. Got to say, the finished product is
outstanding! Looks like it was plucked from a battlefield, and dropped off at my door step. Fit and
function is outstanding so far, haven't had a chance to send any rounds down range but that is
going to change this weekend for sure.
Unfortunately, I don't have a camera. I do however,
have a thread on another forum where there are some pictures posted of my rifle while
it is being rewelded, and the finished product.

M64 Pictures

I can't access PB from work, but if someone wants to host the pictures in this thread, I would really appreciate it
And Steve, in the off chance that you see this thread, a big thank you for an awsome job on the work you did.
Came out great and the communication from yourself and your guys was great, top notch operation all around.

Thanks for hosting LM
I can't wait to send some rounds through it, hopefully at some East Texas piggies

Thanks. We all really enjoyed working on this rifle. Tim's welding was simply over the top. We were all pleased with the final result. Let us know if you want to sell it!  Steve

Awesome!   Let us know how it shoots!  I have a 64 reweld too, and it is a great rifle.

It shoots fantastic!
There is no real recoil to speak thanks to the added weight of the milled receiver.
I was worried about the cheek weld on the folder, but it all comes together great and doesn't really
beat you up at all.
I haven't had a chance to shoot it on paper yet, but at 100 yards, I was dinging a 12X12 metal
plate fairly consistantly when I did my part and tried, instead of just running mags through it

Who did your re-weld?

Matt Yeamans did my M64 reweld and did an outstanding job as well.  Good to have options when it comes to builders for these.

He is who was recomended to me by several guys, but his back log was just so long, I didn't think I could wait.
Found Two Rivers through a poster who had a Bren re-welded, and since they were just offering custom work
at the time, I figured I would give them a shot. Couldn't be happier with the results It's a shame there are only
a handfull of guys doing this sort of work, as it really narrows down your options, but from what I have seen
they all do top notch work.
Really just comes down to which builder is closer, and your level of patience I suppose.

Matt did mine too, and I couldn't be happier.

How does the re-weld process effect the integrity of the receiver? I have heard many opinions for and against this process.

Matt Yeamans told me that a properly welded receiver is at least as strong as the original, if not stronger.  That's his say on the matter anyway.

What is the average cost of the reweld projects?  I see apex has kits and demilled recievers (is this what you guys are using?)  How much for the reweld itself away from the cost for the entire project?

I paid $280 for my M64 kit.  I believe it was an Apex kit, but I bought it from another member here.  All numbers matching and the bore is absolutely mint, looks like new.  A really nice kit.  Matt charged me $325 for the build and that included return shipping of the finished rifle.  That was a few years ago and prices may have changed.

Yup, used the de-milled receivers with mine.
Total cost is $400, extra if you want any engraving/extra markings ect.

I believe Two Rivers has a few month backlock, and I was told Matt's was close to a year.
Both are great too deal with, personal experience with Two Rivers and I've read nothing but
good things about Matt

I think I paid just about the same –– mine was done about 3 years ago

Thank you!

Be sure to post lots of pictures once you get the project rolling.
They are awsome rifles, wish I had the funds for another right now.
BTW, if you go with a kit from Apex, they are great to deal with
