Anyone have a pic or 2 of their ejector and rail. Mine is beat to hell and even if I smooth it out, it's just as bad after the next trip to the range.

Something besides fired cases is hitting that.  Fix it.

Either that or the metal was not properly heat treated/bad metal

A real possibility.  That rifle is built on a Vulcan receiver.  They are fairly well known for poor heat treatment.

I'm aware of that, but bad heat treatment or not, nothing should be hitting those edges that hard except for the spent casing. And that part of the ejector is barely deformed. Something is smacking it from the rear. I was curious to see other's pics to see if  that part is too big or extends out too far. I've heard they use the same piece for 5.56 which would need more protrusion to catch the smaller casing. Pics? I can't seem to find dimensional drawings for that part. Someone may have forgotten to grind a mm off that piece.

Your bolt is rotating prematurely and/or your rails may be a little low since the contact appears to be hitting the lower end of the ejector. Can you post more pics of the rails and inside the receiver.

Yes, I was thinking that the ejector rail may have been tacked on running uphill. Wouldn't be surprising for Vulcan, I guess. Shot it today and it ran fine but new abrasions evident, It's dirty, too.

Is there galling in the ejector slot of the bolt?

Doesn't appear to be. But I dug up a couple of decent measuring tools and am seeing that the top rail and ejector rail are not parallel. Over the length of that 4" or so, the ejector rail rises at least .030". I think the rear end is high and the front end, low. That kinds matches the nicks. Guess I'll have to find someone around here to look at it. I'm not a welder, either.

Think I figured it out. Got time to analyze it and the ejector was riding very low in the channel with a lot of room to the top, so the bolt carrier must be smacking it as it goes by. Either the metal was stamped a degree or 2 over 90, or there was a major pile-up in there at one time. A few taps with a hammer and punch and it's more in the center of the channel and breech face slot... will find out Monday.
