I have a fixed stock from Century, and it looks like the rear sight base or sight block (not sure on the nomenclature) is pretty badly canted.  The left side of the bolt carrier and piston are actually dragging against the rear sight base when the action cycles.

I know nothing about fixing AKs, but it looks like the entire rear sight base is held on by one pin.  If I punch the roll pin out, can I just use a mallet to beat the rear sight block to the left a little bit, reinsert the pin, and be on my way?

I've never had to fix a rsb, but when I straightened a front sight base I enlarged the holes and the grooves and made a pin from the drill bit. While some people have reported success reinstalling the original pin in the original hole, others have found that when they did so the pin forced the base back to the original canted location.

I was hoping it would be a relatively simple fix (like fixing a canted fsb).

Unfortunately, it looks like it may be more difficult...

I tried to get a couple of pictures of the block, along with a shot of what's happening to the piston.

What do you think?
