Can someone give me a close up shot of the left side of their gas block on their M70 (the side with the nut on it)?

Since my nut was stripped completely minus a small thread at the top of it, I cant assemble the gas cutoff, but I did buy a new nut at the hardware store that fits - but I cant figure out if the washer fits on the inside or outside of the grenade sight.  If I put it on the outside, I cant seem to tighten the nut very far and there is a gap (like there was before) between the sight and the gasblock where gas is going to escape.  Which I am not sure if that is normal or not since mine had the gap, I had some gas escaping around that part of my rifle, as evidenced by some streaks around the hole on the gas block.

Is there a gap between the gasblock and the sight? Mine had a pretty big gap..

My three M70s all have the washer on the outside of the sight (next to the nut).  There is no gap on any of them.

Interesting - the gap on mine is so big I could actually fit the washer there. Can you post a picture of the gasblock/sight on the nut side close up?
