[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Gas cutoff

my Grenade sight gas cutoff seems to be stuck. The nut is loose allowing the sight to pivot but the cutoff is not turning. I removed the nut and cannot push the cutoff out. I'm thinking its probably gunked up. Soak in Penetrant? Any suggestions?

If you've taken the nut off, there's nothing holding the cut-off bolt in but caked crud.

Just tap it straight out with a punch.

Agreed, but thats the problem it wont beat out. I was afraid to mushroom it.

Damn- It must really be corroded badly if it's stuck that tight.

Maybe try soaking like you said?

Like I said, with the nut and washer off, there's nothing but crud holding it on. I wonder if you'll find the bolt too eroded to use when you finally get it out.

Sure hope its not too. I dropped some oil on it 2 days ago and havent messed with it since. i should have time tonight. Thanks for the support. I will update when i know more.
