| Does the chrome lining extend the barrels life, or does a regular barrel (steel) like on a Yugo, last just as long? I performed a search with no real results. And what is about an average round count before one sees real degradation of the barrel? |
| This question has come up before and the general consensus was that with proper care, the average user should see barrel life in the 20 - 25,000 round count. Actual barrel life would ultimately be determined by the user's preventive maintenance and shooting habits. The cushy civilian life of Yugos owned by members of this forum allow for extended barrel life that military-issue Yugos could only dream of. The barrel will far outlive the average person. |
yep. Chrome lining is more resistant to corrosive ammunition. However, like liquidmetal said, preventive maintenance will make this a non issue. And so will cheap non-corrosive ammo. |
