| So my buddy told me he found pieces of a sks in his attic that were probably his uncles and he said i could have them if i gave him a sling for his mosin and a sleeping pad. I know its a strange trade but i had them laying around and he had use for them. This is where it gets weird. we were looking at SKS's in pic threads on here and now he isnt sure that it is a SKS. He is pretty knowledgeable about firearms and has a bunch of garands, carbines etc. but is pretty sure from looking at pictures that what he has isnt a SKS. what do you guys think it could be? |

Wow you were about as clear as mud with you description of the parts. And since you have some very high resolution pictures of the parts in question I'm sure someone will have an answer for you. I would answer but I can't see the pictures because you didn't post them correctly. OOOOH WAIT you didn't post any pictures |
that was super helpful man thanks. Everyone is johnny rambo on the internet. FYI my friend lives in PA and I live in VT so I have not seen any pictures of the gun and he hasnt seen it together since its just parts. I just thought that an expert (not you obviously) would be able to point out a firearm that could be mistaken for a SKS. |
Well again your post was about as generic as asking if you were got a tan at the beach, when nobody here has ever met you and you don't post any pictures of before or after
Wow somebody who said what I said except in a nicer way |
| There are numerous possibilities and its even possible that it could be an SKS variant. A photo of the key components and we could ID it right away. Sarcasm aside, we are a pretty helpful bunch. Probably best to try to have him email you a pic before you agree to anything. If this is a bringback, it could be an undocumented full auto and that would be seriously bad Karma. FYI, there are no FA sks models. They are all semi. |
