grease or oil?

lol pretty simple question really.  It's pretty easy to see where lubricant is needed, I just am not sure which is better to use.  I was figuring grease but oil might do.

Don't take my word for it but for MOST,not all, of my firearms I use a very good light amount of grease on the slide/Bolt grooves and oil anywhere else. So far every single firearm I've owned I have done this to and I've never had a single jam/FTF/FTE or failure to fire in any of them.

when i stripped my bolt and carrier I noticed that there was red grease on there.  I suppose if I grease it like I would an M1 and oil everything else it won't hurt.  It's not like this rifles going to be seeing adverse conditions....I think the worst it will see is heat from the sun....
