[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Bought sks... need help..

I just bought a yugo.. in probably what you would call fair condition.. Stock has some small chips in it, but the metal looks pretty good on it... I got no manual with this thing though.. I cant even close the action lol or unfold the bayonet... How do I do these things? thanks for helpin the noob out.

Wow... there is a hell of a lot more to taking it apart than my WASR 10... Ill be shooting the sks next weekend.. But so far what I think of it is that I wonder how something could be so ugly but yet so beautiful at the same time. :) But bayonet, grenade luancher lol.. Its the Diane Finestein heart attack special.

IMHO these rifles are an amazing value. Fun to shoot, where else can you find something as versatile and inexpensive to run?

I cant seem to get the receiver cover pin out its only coming out halfway.. I dropped dripping some rem oil into the hole.. still no luck.

make sure you have the lever facing straight up in the air and it should come right out

It doesn't come all the way out if that's what you are trying to do!

to close the action=release the magazine.
to open bayo=pull down on spring loaded collar at end of bayo and slap it over the barrel.
