Well, after not having any SKSs around for a long time now, I got a deal on a couple of them.  One of them has a black plastic stock, with "Combat Exchange" written on it.  The stock must be filled with lead, it makes that SKS a pound heavier than the one with a good wood stock on it.  Is there a good source for wood stocks?  Or anyone that has a good bicep muscle and wants to trade!  This is my first post here and I have to say I was very glad to find this place, although you guys are going to cost me money I just know it.  I have just sent off my C&R application.  I sure wish I would have filled my house with SKSs a number of years ago when I was buying them for $75 for paratrooper models still in cosmoline.   Anyway, thanks for the good info here!

Welcome to the board. There is a C&R section under "The Armory" Tab devoted to great stuff like cosmoline filled presents. I just did a quick search, and AIM Surplus has SKS stocks cut for blade bayonets for about $10. It says you may have to do a little fitting. Thats just one source. Check out cruffler.com, they have a list of links for C&R stuff, although some are old and don't work anymore. Good luck finding the stock you want.

Welcome!  There is a section for MN members if you click on HOMETOWN up above.  I live right on the border of WI/MN.

I've got a Norinco in a Combat Exchange stock. Man is that SOB heavy, only consolation is that it'll make on hell of a club if I ever need one.

I wish I had the original stock to mine as it's in decent shape with all the numbers matching. But hey, it's just and SKS and I'll probably do one of 2 things with it, 1. leave it in the closet forever, 2. Shoot the piss out of it and smile along the way.

there are alot of places that sell wood stocks for pretty cheap. Look around at a gun show and there will be a few for sale. Like posted above. You may have to do a little fitting but it will work.
