I used a plastic bucket  filled with an inch or so of low odor mineral spirits and various brushes of different sizes and paper towels.  I also use a cleaning rod to run some patches through the bore and gas tube.  I changed out the mineral spirits once during the process.  Be sure to wear rubber gloves.  They say not to use gasoline because it is too flammable.  Be sure to do it outside for safety.  Took a couple of hours.

I took the stock off mine, wrapped it in paper towels and then put it all in a black paper bag in the sun to start leaching out the cosmo.

Then I took the action appart, dropped all the small parts into a bucket of kerosine, and took the barreled receiver to the ca-wash with me.   The high pressure washer does wonders.

I got one for christmas and just used strong paper towels and wiped it all off.  It was easy and just took a couple of hours and then punched the bore and did the inner stuff with q tips.

Came out perfect, not greasy or anything, shot it today and the thing is awsome.

Simple green, kerosene, purple power, carburator cleaner and mineral spirits all work pretty good to get all of the cosmoline off.
