Does anyone know where I could find a 17" cleaning rod that will fit my Romanian SKS? A buttstock cleaning kit that will work with it and fit in the rifle would be good too.

Yep! My 1960 marked rifle showed up about 6:30 tonight. Still in cosmoline but looks like new underneath. Except the finish is worn on my bayo. Almost looks like it was used for light bayo practice and then packed away.
BTW, after I get it all cleaned up tomorrow I'll check if the cleaning rod from my Chicom SKS fits. I'll post here what I find out. |

Okay, I couldn't wait.
The Chinese cleaning rod fits perfect. Probably a good chance any "common" SKS cleaning rod will fit. But there could be an oddball length rod out there somewhere. Okay, I found slings and cleaning rods at Numrich Arms and Sarco. I just placed an order from Sarco. They were a fraction of the price of Numrich. I also ordered a $2.95 cleaning kit but there was no picture so I really don't know if it's the buttstock cleaning kit or a just what it is.
