I found another SKS that I couldn't pass up, and a rare one at that.  It's a paratrooper with the richest reddish finish that I've seen on a Chinese SKS. But what makes it intriguing is the DB arsenal stamp. Not much is known for sure about the arsenal stamping, but it is mostly rumored to indicate a gun that was manufactured for military export to Bangladesh or Bangkok. There are only a handful of DB's that I have heard that have been modified to paratrooper length. This one is a KSI import and I really love the grain in the buttstock.   |

That doesn't look like the usual cheap ass wood on most Chinese SKS's. Nice score! I have 3 Chinese SKS's and the wood is quite is defenetly not cheap. I have two paratrooper carbines with pretty nice wood, though not nearly as nice as the one posted. And, I have a late Factory 26 rifle from '80 or '81 that has EXCELLENT wood. Chinese SKSs once sold for as little as $79. True. But they are not cheap. |
