Was trying to put my paratrooper in jungle stock.  Seems the cross-bolt is hitting the bottom of the barrel if I try to leave the bolt in when installing.  If I take it out it will not slide back in the hole once the rifle is in the stock.  Looks like the rifle needs to go back more toward the butt of the stock, but the front retaining ring is flush on the stock.

I figure some sanding or dremeling is in order, but not sure where to start.  Any suggestions?

Don't have a camera that will get pics inside there, just a camera phone.

You will have to shorten the front end of stock, Dremel & file till it fits . Put the recoil bolt back in than put action in stock than scribe line on recvr/barrel along aft side  of cross bolt, the distance from line to were the cross bolt should be is how much you need to shorten front end.  Expect some minor adjusting at the back end too.

long time ago I had the same issue.  Used a file and a dremel.  Did you refinish the stock?

No refinishing.  Came in some kind of polymer stock ATI or Ramline.  I bought a fiberglass jungle stock.  Got it to work, though except for the spring under the trigger guard and that tiny pin in the upper handguard.

I think it's an issue with screw-in barrels vs. pressed and pinned barrels. I had the same problem and ended up having to file away a bit of the cross bolt to clear the underside of the chamber.

I got the stock to fit by dremeling the front of the stock and the recessed area behind the trigger guard.  Then drilled out the spring hole so it fit.  The only problem I have left, and still don't see the need for, is the tiny pin on the upper handguard.

Got her sighted in and put 100 rounds through her.  she ran flawlessly and made me proud with the grouping.

That handguard never budged, so I'm saying the hell with that tiny pin.
