| Did you take the firing pin out of the bolt to clean it or just spray cleaner on it? Also the firing pin may be upside down in the bolt. If you take it out and look at it you will see it can go in either way, but only one way will let it slide back further. The firing pin should be ran dry. |

Have any parts been replaced on the rifle or has any trigger work been done? Bolt serial number matches the rifle?
I've used Golden tiger in both my SKS and AK with no problem, so I suspect there is something else going on. Could the safety sear be tripping the hammer when the bolt locks? Test the unloaded rifle to see if the hammer is following the bolt down to check for that. The only other thing I can thing of is an overlong FP that's firing the primers. BSW |

You have the firing pin in correctly the flat side of the pin should be facing up like you have it. From what I can see the firing pin still looks pretty dirty probably some left over cosmoline in side. Just spraying brake cleaner inside isn't going to get all the cosmoline out. There are two way that you can clean the bolt and firing pin knock out the retain pin and clean out the channel or you can boil the bolt for about 45 min, every 15 min take it slosh it back and forth in the boiling water, then take it out and blow some high pressure air through the firing pin hole then drop it back in I do this about three time.
Then use the brake cleaner to wash out the firing pin channel from both end to make sure you have all the oils and water removed,do not put any kind of lube on the firing pin or in the channel it rides it it's suppose to run dry. Now shake the bolt back and forth and see if you can hear the firing pin rattle inside the bolt, you should also be able to tip the bolt back and forth and the firing pin will fall forward or back easy. Cosmoline is pretty much grease and wax any amount on the firing pin or in the channel will cause it to stick an cause a slam fire. I use the boil method on my Yugo and Chinese and have never had a problem. Golden Tiger has a sealant around the primer that likes to stick to the firing pin and bolt face any oil or old cosmoline left on or in the bolt will just attract those flakes of sealant and make your firing pin jam forward. |

Hey man...
As other have already said, completely disassemble the bolt, and remove the firing pin. It's quite likely there is still cosmoline hiding in the channel. When I cleaned my SKS, I actually poured cleaner into the channel and capped the end with a finger to let the cleaner sit for a bit. Then I hit it with some compressed air to force everything out. When you re-assemble, do not apply any oil or grease to the firing pin; leave it dry. Any lubricant in the firing pin channel can cause it to gum up. |

Haven't seen the question asked but were you using Russian ammo when it slam fired or American made ammo, the possibility of getting a slam fire is a lot higher using soft primed American ammo than with the Russian. The Murray's pin will take care of that problem as far as soft primer go in the SKS as long as the trigger group is functioning properly and not firing when it goes into battery.
Also did you inspect the primer on the slam fired case, there should be just a very small indention in the primer or do you have a full firing pin strike on the primer. One way you can find out is to put a fired case in the chamber and release the bolt as normal can you now pull the trigger and it releases the hammer? |
